Health and Safety Protocols for Trafalgar Tours
Trafalgar has introduced these enhanced hygiene protocols – for you and team members.
You can travel with Trafalgar and be assured that their team has put numerous new measures in place to elevate their hygiene standards and protocols. The well-being of guests and team has always been, and always will be, their primary concern.
In this new, fast changing Covid-19 era, Trafalgar is doing all they can to adapt to new requirements and expectations. Here are some important new steps and procedures that they have implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by relevant government authorities and to give you the peace of mind when you are traveling during these new times.
Expertly Trained Travel DirectorsTravel Director training equips them with enhanced hygiene and physical distancing procedures. During your trip, they will operate with a duty of care and monitor the hygiene etiquette of the guests, reacting and advising as needed, to ensure high standards are maintained. Before you travel, Trafalgar will also keep you well informed about new protocols required in these areas, and ask that you cooperate with and heed the advice and direction of Travel Directors while on your trip. The Travel Directors have preventative measures in place to try and ensure your well-being and in the event that any unexpected issues arise on trip, they will activate additional protocols.
Stringent On-the-Road ProtocolsThe customized luxury coaches are sanitised before the start of your trip and have always been kept to very high standards. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, Trafalgar have taken additional measures to elevate hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and as required, applicable government regulations. The Driver training provides them with the latest hygiene protocols. They will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis. All the guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organisation including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitising when required. Hand sanitiser is freely available on board for your use throughout the day. Please bring your own washable face mask and gloves with you, and additional hand sanitiser to make you feel comfortable, as these will be required to be worn in public in some countries. Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes will be available for guest distribution on all trips.
A Full Team of Support 24/7It’s not just your Travel Director and Driver who will be taking care of you. Behind the scenes, the operations and guest support teams are in contact with them and on call 24/7, so you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
Physical DistancingAdapting to the right size groups, based on government distancing requirements, you can rest assured that you will travel with the comfort of your own personal space. Have peace of mind that all of the experiences, hotels and restaurants you’ll enjoy on your trip have been vetted to ensure they adhere to physical distancing and hygiene guidelines.
Trusted Partners, Exceptional StandardsTrafalgar is very selective in who they work with and choose to only use hotels, restaurants, ground handlers and venues that take the well-being of the guests as seriously as Trafalgar does and agrees to meet expected guidelines and specifications. Trafalgar only works with establishments that they are confident will consistently adhere to their high standards.
Always in the KnowAs part of The Travel Corporation (TTC) , Trafalgar is kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis and is continually in touch with all of the partners on the ground in each destination. Also, rest assured that during your trip, the teams work to ensure the supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Switzerland was incredible and our tour guide was outstanding. We enjoyed almost every part of the tour including the hotel rooms (not impressed with Lucernes hotel Europa but hotel in Lake Maggiore was like a hotel for a king), all cities we saw and all of the excursions. The group was also fun. All and all the trip was fantastic. The boat ride on Lake Geneva was definitely not up to speed but all of the other excursions we took exceeded our expectations. Good job. One other, the driver was crazy good.
I have done several tours with Trafalgar and I have been please with them all. That is why I continue to choose them.
Both trips were enjoyable. The tour director in Croatia was outstanding. Well paced
Well organized, curated tours and hotels.Would definitely recommend Best of Switzerland by Trafalgar.
The overall tour was really great. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of it. We notice there was a slight increase in some of the optional tours cost and one of the hotel in Italy mentioned in the itinerary was different from the one stayed. Overall the tour was great and we hope to book another trip through Affordable Tours in the future to enjoy the discount. Thank You
My 5th trip with Trafalgar tours . A good tour company. Affordable Tours does a great job . Im very pleased with Lihn she's on top of everything. Answers all why promptly. My 2nd booking with her
Very professional group of team members who were there to take care of things in making the trip enjoyable, comfortable safe and memorable. This was our 3 trip with the TRAFALGAR family
Tour was completed comfortably and management by tour director was very good.
Our Travel Director was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the places we visited. You can't fake that. It made the whole experience much better. Having a Wellness Director helped settle everyone's nerves as we begin to travel after COVID. The coach driver's skills were impeccable. There were one or two little things, but truly nothing to complain about.
The tour director, Stephanie Bahr was wonderful! Interesting, informative, helpful and always ready to answer questions. She excelled in all areas. My Switzerland and Italy experience was made even better thanks to her.
While most of the accommodations were nice, a few were a little run down and all were a little too far from shopping and other activities. Also, one of the excursions (that cost over $100 for us) was not how it was presented in the documentation provided by the tour director. It was suppose to be a peaceful and lovely Carriage ride through a scenic valley. The carriages turned out to be old hay wagons converted with seating for 6. Dirty and smelly horse blankets were provided for warmth and the ride was interrupted three times by construction trucks that caused the coachman to drive off the road to avoid them. Plus, the coachman decided to smoke his cigar on the ride back to the tour bus. It was way less then peaceful or lovely!
My experience on this tour had some unexpected changes and I was dissatisfied with the fact that two of the hotels were changed and I was not informed. As a result of the change of hotel for the last nights in the tour, I had to pay for my own transportation to the airport. I don't know who was responsible for the communication but was not a good experience as the hotel in Lucerne was far away from the city center.
Great and fun way to see Switzerland. The little side trip to Italy (Lake Maggiore) and the train to St Moritz are the best parts of the trip -I didn't even know about that separate railway system. The accommodations and included dining are excellent. Our guide, David, is superb.
The countryside was beautiful. Not enough time in any one location. Felt very rushed. Tour guide listened to people but did whatever she wanted to do. She did not seem to understand her travelers' needs. Most hotels I would rate very low. Most were not airconditioned and weather was very hot.
This trip included amazing scenery and was truly the best of Switzerland. The only downside is that it did not stop in Geneva, which i think should be included as the best of Switzerland.
This summer in Switzerland drawer was the tour of a lifetime. Our guide, Stephanie, was Absolutely incredible! Very memorable.
Trafalgar's standard meets our expectations. It is simple/clear and relax. It has high quality hotels and interesting travel points.
Best of Switzerland was a great tour. The country is beautiful.
Wide variation in hotel accomodations and food service.
Excellent trip. We had a blast and would not change a thing ! We'll book again !
