Arrive in Madrid, Spain's energetic capital. Transfer independently to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure

DAY 3, Friday - Full Day in Madrid
Today is free to explore Madrid on your own. Perhaps, join the optional Half Day Madrid Highlights. Take a walking tour of the historic city center of Madrid. Stroll around Plaza de la Villa, the famous Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Oriente. From here, board a bus and head to the magnificent Puerta de Toledo. See the oldest bridge in Madrid and drive next to the Manzanares River, from where you will have great views of the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. Pass by Mayor Street, Puerta del Sol square and the Las Cortes quarter on your way to Paseo del Prado. Admire the architecture of old Madrid arriving into Las Letras Quarter and continue to Cibeles Fountain. Do not miss Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the five ancient gates into the city. The last sights you will see on the tour are the Santiago Bernabéu stadium through Paseo de la Castellana street and Colon square

DAY 4, Saturday - Full Day in Madrid
Spend the day at leisure, perhaps participate in the optional Full Day Avila & Segovia Tour with lunch. Head to Avila and take a guided walking tour of the Old Town to discover the impressive history of the city. See Romanesque style churches, Gothic palaces, and a fortified cathedral dating back to the Middle Ages. Visit the well-preserved walls of Ávila, hear of the events that they have witnessed throughout the centuries. Marvel at the fortification and towers, which have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After the tour, spend free time to explore the other areas of the town. Then, continue to Segovia. Following lunch, walk through the old Jewish quarter of the city, and visit the Alcazar of Segovia. Admire the spectacular architecture of this epic medieval castle

DAY 5, Sunday - Full Day in Madrid
On your last day at leisure, choose the optional Half Day Royal Monastery of El Escorial. This combination monastery-palace-mausoleum is situated approximately one hour outside of Madrid in the foothills of the Guadarrama Mountains. This austere monastery, erected by King Philip II in 1584, was intended to be a memorial to his father, King Charles V, and to commemorate Spain´s victory at Saint Quentin in 1557. It has since become the burial place of subsequent Spanish kings and queens. You will have free time to visit the gardens and surrounding area. Continue with a short drive to the Valley of the Fallen, a monumental complex, located in Sierra de Guadarrama. Visit the underground basilica, built into the mountain, that is topped with the world's largest cross, which can be seen from miles away

The Radisson Hotel was way above expectations and all others were very nice. The bus with wifi and charging ability was very nice and allowed me to share the trip with others while traveling. The food was extremely good and many more choices than expected. All flights, pickups and delivery were accomplished on time and with ease. The bag handlers were always there and made everything run smoothly with little effort on my part.
