Today is free to explore cosmopolitan Lisbon on your own or choose the optional Lisbon City Tour. The tour takes you to the Edward VII's Park and Jerónimos Monastery. Continue to view the Belém Tower, the Monument of the Discoveries, and the Praça do Comércio. Conclude the tour with a visit to the National Palace of Ajuda. The palace's interior is richly decorated and features intricate tapestries, ornate furniture, elegant chandeliers and stunning artwork

See 15th century royal residences, continue along the coast and drive along the famous Guincho Beach, before arriving at Cascais where you will see magnificent panorama views of the Bay of Cascais

Continue to the quaint fishing village of Nazare, a surfers' paradise, thanks to the size of the waves. In the afternoon, visit the famed sanctuary of the Virgin Mary before returning to Lisbon

The Gate 1 Discovery tours are very good and well worth the extra cost. We had only 16 participants on the trip and everyone got along well. They used the large bus and everyone had their own seat if they wanted it. The hotels on trip were above average.
Great trip for those that want to visit Normandie and the Mediterranean Coast of France. Plenty of time for lunches and shopping at most stops. Nice to have two nights at each stop.
