DAY 1, Friday - Depart for Iceland

DAY 2, Saturday - Arrive in Reykjavik, Visit Aurora Reykjavik, Travel to Hveragerdi, Search for the Northern Lights
Arrive in Iceland, "Land of Ice and Fire" and transfer to Reykjavik. Your flights should arrive between 6 AM and 8 AM. Your tour begins with a box breakfast at Whales of Iceland Museum*. Afterward, take a city tour including a visit to Aurora Reykjavik: The Northern Lights Center. Gain insight into the Northern Lights during a guided tour through the interactive exhibits and learn how to capture them on camera. Then, depart Reykjavik and travel to the countryside. Arrive in Hveragerdi and check into your hotel. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, followed by dinner. Later, if conditions are right, meet your Tour Manager to search the skies for the Northern Lights***Passengers that are arriving prior to day 2, or are making their own way from the airport should meet the group directly at Whales of Iceland Museum by 8:30 AM.

DAY 3, Sunday - South Coast Highlights
Today, travel to the South Coast and watch the dramatic scenery of outwash plains and lava fields. Visit the informative Lava Center with its interactive exhibition about geology and the volcanic systems in Iceland. Continue to Seljalandsfoss waterfall which you can walk behind if conditions allow. Following lunch, stop at the spectacular Skógafoss waterfall, tumbling over a high rock escarpment. Next, head to the charming village of Vik to view the beautiful black beaches before returning to the hotel

DAY 4, Monday - Gullfoss, Geysir, Þingvellir, Husafell
Explore some of Iceland's most renowned natural wonders. Begin at Gullfoss (The Golden Waterfall), one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe with thousands of tons of icy water tumbling into a deep gorge. Then, on to Geysir area with its numerous hot springs, fumaroles and geysers, including the world-famous Strokkur Geysir. Watch it erupt every few minutes spewing hot water high into the air. Proceed to Fontana Spa to watch a demonstration of how traditional rye bread is prepared and cooked in the ground using geothermal heat. Taste the freshly baked bread with locally farmed smoked trout. Then, head to geological and historic area of Þingvellir. Visit the site of the world's oldest democratic parliament founded in 930 AD, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Husafell for dinner and overnight

DAY 5, Tuesday - Waterfalls & Hot Springs of West Iceland
Embark on a morning excursion to Reykholt area, with its variety of geological features such as lava fields, mineral springs, and beautiful waterfalls. Stop at Deildartunguhver hot spring, and visit Sturlureykir Horse Farm. Get an up-close look at the Icelandic horses, a unique breed developed in Iceland. Visit the village of Reykholt with medieval history and culture. View Snorralaug. a geothermal hot spring and stop at Bruaras Geo Center. Proceed to the striking Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls before heading back to the hotel for lunch. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps, join the optional Into the Glacier. Discover the untouched beauty and raw nature of Langjokull, Iceland's second largest glacier. Journey up the white slopes and go deep inside the ice tunnels leading to the heart of the glacier, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Tonight dinner is at the hotel

DAY 6, Wednesday - Reykjavik City Tour, Sky Lagoon
Depart Husafell and head south to Reykjavik. Check into the hotel*. In the afternoon perhaps, join the optional Reykjavik Food Walking Tour. Embark on a walking food tour of Reykjavik. During the walk, view the city's iconic landmarks and sample delectable Icelandic food. Continue with a visit to Iceland's most famous hot dog stand and try a hot dog. Later, indulge yourself to a unique spa experience at the Sky Lagoon, an oceanside thermal spa inspired by nature and local culture. if you're lucky, the dancing Northern Lights will put on a stunning show. This evening, participate in the optional Northern Lights by boat tour. Sail way from the coastline of Reykjavik to spot the Northern Lights with the city lights in the background. A truly unique experience you will not forget*A short walk is required to reach the hotel from the drop off point. Passengers, need to carry their own luggage.

DAY 7, Thursday - Full Day in Reykjavik
Spend the day at leisure. Choose the optional Blue Lagoon. Visit the famous lagoon, a unique natural pool of mineral-rich geothermal water located in the middle of a lava field. Treat yourself to a silica mud mask and a relaxing bath in the pleasantly warm water reputed for its healing properties. In the afternoon perhaps, join the optional Reykjavik Food Walking Tour. Embark on a walking food tour of Reykjavik. During the walk, view the city's iconic landmarks and sample delectable Icelandic food. Continue with a visit to Iceland's most famous hot dog stand and try a hot dog. Tonight at dinner, bid farewell to your Tour Manager

Land only price does not include departure transfer, but does include the group arrival transfer that departs between 7 and 8:30 AM from Keflavik Airport on day 2. Please contact a service agent to make arrangements to meet the group if your arrival flight does not arrive on day 2 of the tour.
Passengers arriving to Reykjavik on day 2 should select flights that arrive between 6 AM & 8 AM. The group transfer will depart approximately between 7:00 - 8:30 AM.
If booking a prenight stay, you should book a hotel in Reykjavik instead of Hella or Fludir in order to avoid expensive transfers and missing scheduled activities on day 2 of the tour.
Northern Lights tours are subject to correct weather conditions and solar activity. Sightings cannot be guaranteed. If the tour is canceled locally, we will attempt to offer another Northern Lights tour on an alternate evening, conditions permitting. The Reykjavik Northern Lights tour departs at approximately 8:30 PM from Oct 1 - Mar 14, and 9:30 PM from Sep 1 - Sep 30 & Mar 15 - Apr 15. The tour may not return until well after midnight.
