Best trip ever!
Very Nice Experience!
The tour daily activities as described in the itinerary were met and completed. The tour guide and the driver were nice, very good, and helpful. The tour was well worth it. The pursuit of the Northern Lights was adventurous with outmost patience out in the cold waiting for it, but exciting and fun with the group. The included Blue Lagoon is awesome, we enjoyed it very much. Iceland is very unique. I learned a lot about it.
We had a very good time on our 6 day Iceland tour. The weather was very cooperative. We were able to view the Aurora Borealis 2 consecutive nights at Hekla! It was a blessing! Our Guide and Driver were great!

We went to Iceland and chose the Northern Lights package because we wanted to see the Aurora Boreales. We knew weather conditions could affect this objective, but Gate1 (aka the operator) failed to make an effort to get us to see them and relied 100% on what the hotel reception and radar would say. At Hella, a few of us went out as soon as we saw some activity on the radar. Nothing could be seen to the naked eye but the cameras did catch dome green lights. The operator didn’t even show up. At the second hotel, a group of people took a taxi on a effort to try and see if anything happened. They got some pictures too. The operator learned of this at the same time of the others. The operator relied on what he was told. There was cloudy and chances are very low. But we saw other companies picking up people knowing there was just a little bit of chance. We were just sent to bed. We knew by contract that if weather didn’t let us see the northern lights, something else would be planned. We received nothing. There was not the minimum effort. We didn’t all take a bus and went exploring and wait to see the lights. We just stayed in the hotel expecting someone to tell us there are no clouds. This was very disappointing. Definitely not a northern lights tour, an operator would have been with us at 2am taking pictures, or letting everyone else know that 6 min away people were taking pictures, or getting on a bus waiting, hoping; because that’s what took us to Iceland. Not the church or greenhouse. Everything else was great. But because of the eruption we couldn’t do the blue lagoon. Sad but not the end of the world. Not making an effort for us to see the lights, that’s not ok. And again, if weather conditions prevented, it was clear that we were going to get something else. But not effort and nothing else either. I won’t definitely recommend them.
