Tour Itinerary
They say you can’t stop time. Prague is intricate and theatrical Astronomical Clock, striking every hour for the past 600 years, is ticking proof. Yet when you travel to the “City of a Hundred Spires” as well as the beguiling cities of Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, and Vienna on this six-country tour of Eastern Europe, it can also feel like time has stood still. Centuries-old palaces, castles, and cathedrals transport you to another era, as do beautifully reconstructed war-damaged cities. Tracing the steps of kings, queens, emperors, presidents, generals, soldiers, and prisoners, history buffs will relish revisiting the most gripping chapters of the past. In addition, with a whole day at leisure in harmonious Vienna and a private Chopin concert in the maestro’s hometown of architecturally alluring Warsaw, music lovers will be equally elated.

Our travel experience with Globus Tours was terrific. Our tour guide and driver were wonderful. The local city guides were top notch.
Tour was great. Pieter was an excellent tour director & made sure we were well taken care of. Everything went like clockwork.
Very pleased with driver and logistics. Thank you.
Nothing more to say that they prepared us well!
ONLY things is that the hotel in Vienna was NOT centrally located near the downtown. Also - Globus needs to know when MAJOR events are happening in the cities. The last day in Berlin (Saturday the 28th) was crazy. The city was hosting a major marathon on Sat AND Sunday. The hotel should have been booked closer to the airport so there wasn't a concern about getting to the airport through a closed down city. It took us on Saturday - 2 hours to get through the city. We didn't get to check in and relax after a VERY long day of bus riding / traveling but went straight to the restaurant for our goodbye dinner. Also - Auschwitz was incredible but the tour felted rushed and we didn't have any time to really draw into what we were seeing/experiencing. I truly felt like cattle being pushed through the ringers. It was packed and I could barely hear our guide.
Jack was very helpful and explained everything during the booking of this tour.
The tour director was exceptional. The only problem was with the hotels which have high tubs which apparently are fairly common in Europe which take more baths than showers. Otherwise, the trip was great.
Unfortunately we hit a heat wave all along the trip , some of the accommodations had barely ac working but the accommodation were clean and service was very good
Caleb was wonderful to work with us on all aspects of preparing for the trip.
Please note, our date of travel to Europe was May 12 to June 12, 2019. Out tour director was amazing. His extensive knowledge and incredible humor were endless. We would travel with him again.
The tour was very well managed by the operator, without any relevant issues.
I have never taken a land tour before. It was better than I expected. We never worried about anything. The tour director was amazing and made sure everything taken care of before we arrived at each stop. I look forward for more travels with Globus.
The hotel in Krakw was very small. Vienna hotel was 3 miles from city center. Too far. Prague was almost 2 miles.
It was an amazing experience to travel all of the Eastern European countries. We heard and saw so much history - some going back centuries. The World War II history is something that everyone, including our young should hear and see. Our visit to the concentration camps in Poland made history, sadly, come alive for us. Our Tour Director, Janja, was very knowledgeable and shared so much of the history that was little known to many of us.
Globus was a overall good provider of the travel. Local guides were weak at times.
Great tour at this time of the year.
The hotels were not up to my expect ions. They certainly were not 5star. Out tour leader was not warm and when asking questions not helpful to our needs.many sights were not explained to us
Optional tours were rather expensive for the value of the service
We had a wonderful time. Even the weather cooperated! Thank you, Helga, for your assistance. I hope to plan another trip soon. Elisabeth
Great experience.
One of the best European Excursions!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 217 The Best of Eastern Europe tour program. Our experience was enhanced by the excellent service provided by our tour consultant. All services and segments of the program were completed in a very satisfactory manner.
The Globus trip to Eastern Europe was amazing!
Tour guide and driver were excellent and knowlegeable. Driver courteous and safety conscious.
I've traveled with other tour companies before - Insight, Contiki, Gate 1 Travel. All of them were enjoyable however, this tour from Globus completely exceeded by expectations. The hotels were all centrally located, the local tour guides spoke clearly, were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Above all, the tour director was phenomenal.
This trip was wonderful! It was the saddest trip we have taken, but the history was wonderful. It was hard to take some of it, but so well worth seeing and learning about. A great trip!
Great tour and tour guide
Far better then we ever expected especially the tour director and the impressive hotels. In every city the historic/old town was walking distance. The trip was like taking a three-credit history course on World War II and Eastern Europe, without tests and a term paper. Our first tour like this and it was outstanding.
Outstanding Tour Director
good Globus tour and good local guides
Hotel rooms with very deep tubs /showers and no safety handles in many of them only one hotel room on the trip had a walk in shower. Hotel room in Vienna very big disappointment, extermely small room and even a smaller bathroom.Had to change currency several times because not all countries take the euro. Tours were great, tour director even better and local guides very good in most cases.
Local guides provided a lot of information creating information overload. At times whispers were not audible. It would be nice if at each location an information sheet summarizing important points is made available. Also provide info about optional tours and cost up front with comments from previous customers.
1. Hilton Hotel had black mold in the shower
2. NH hotels reminded me of domitories. Bed linens were torn and dirty.
3. Optional tours were VERY expensive.
4. Schonneburg Palace tour was so rushed I don't remember seeing anything, it was awful.
5. The Royal Palace tour in Warsaw was a waste of money. We paid for the tour and transportation but we were already in town.
6. We were talked into meals while on the road and they were also expensive. Local places were much cheaper. Absolute terrible food as well.
7. All meals on day of arrival at the hotels were terrible. And I mean all hotels in all cities.
Usually Globus hotels are very centrally located; however, in Vienna and Prague the hotels were quite far from tourist attractions, Old Town, etc. Our tour guide was excellent. One of the most fun tours I have been on due to where we visited, our director, and the other people on the tour.
The last tour with Globus was not the first one. I know this tour company's high standards and therefore I am a repeat customer.
Overall it was a wonderful trip. Next time I know to tell the agent I don't want a layover over 4 hours.
The problem with this Globus tour, and why I won't go with them again is that there are too many optional "excursions." Had we gone on all it would have been $1000 each. Plus, lunches on travel days, where no other alternative existed were extra, and priced at at least 15 euros. Some hotels were well located, but the ones in Prague and Vienna were far from central locations.
Had a great trip and we will travel again with Globus in the future.
The accommodations in Vienna were not up to my standards. Ours was a tiny room in a secluded area, which we walked 3 corridors to find it. Once in the room, the safe was broken and the person who came to replace the safe door asked for our room cards and gave us new ones that would open the door and safe. This did not make us feel secure. A safe lock should not be keyed to a door card.
Arcadia Royal Warsaw Poland is quite a distance from the main center. Exploring Warsaw will require additional effort to get to the City main center. Century Old Town Prague room in Czech Republic is small. It is quite inconvenient, very little room to store the luggage.
Our tour guide was the greatest, along with our driver.
Our tour director was the greatest. The same goes for our bus driver. Tour guides in all the cities we visited were knowledgeable and pleasant given the challenge to keep tabs on 40 people!

Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Auschwitz and Dresden were all new to us --- Nice hotels, centrally located, comfortable transport, good dining (and drinking) and, of course a magnificent curriculum of history on so many points. Polish Salt Mine is a wonder of the world; Auschwitz is a "must visit" lesson in "NEVER AGAIN!" Budapest, Vienna, and Prague were all fantastic RE-VISITS for us. The Dinner Cruise on the Danube, the night-time walk through Prague AND the orchestra's fine redition of the "Blue Danube Waltz" in Vienna are now, once again, vibrant memories for us. We had 43 travelers in our group. Although things went remarkably smoothly, that's too many folks. If reservations grow past, say, 35 tourists, recommend either a split tour or an assistant tour director. Again, though, the trip was sensational.
