Famous for its tulips, windmills, and wooden clogs, The Netherlands is a delightful country with scenic landscapes, historic monuments, and vibrant cities. You’ll get to know the country on this affordable tour starting and ending in Amsterdam. The capital of Holland is a pleasant, 700-year-old city whose elegant and classic architecture, cafés and restaurants, renowned museums, and picturesque canals—not to mention the bike paths throughout the city—make for a pleasurable atmosphere. Hop on a boat cruise—the best way to see Amsterdam—through the elegant canals lined with stately homes dating back to Amsterdam’s “Golden Age.” Stay in Rotterdam, South Holland’s capital, a young city with the world’s busiest port and known for its modern architecture and design, as well as in some of the minor but interesting towns where you’ll discover the rural atmosphere of this country. The Netherlands is known for legendary flower production, which you will experience on the visit to the fascinating Aalsmeer flower auction where more than 20 million plants and flowers are sold daily. (Note that from April to May, the Aalsmeer flower auction visit is replaced by a visit to the spectacular 70-acre Keukenhof garden to see the incredible display of a kaleidoscope of seven million flower bulbs.) You’ll also enjoy a visit to the Royal Delft Pottery Factory to see how this precious pottery is made. Visit Gouda, known for its namesake cheese and seasonal cheese market, regularly held on the medieval Markt square. Take a stroll in Volendam, known for its old fishing boats, characteristic small houses, drawbridges, and canals. Additionally, drive over the 19-mile Barrier Dam, constructed to protect the part of Holland that is below sea level. For the value-minded travel lover wanting to have an in-depth experience of the Netherlands, this is the perfect adventure!

Our guide was very professional, organized, and knowledgeable! She also had a great sense of humor. My wife and I really appreciated her every effort. We would recommend her and the tour to anyone visiting the Netherlands. The first hotel , HOTEL Ibis styles had a great first meal buffet! I would recommend it for the final dinner also. After touring all day and getting ready to depart early the following morning, it would be less stress and more efficient to eat at the Ibis styles.
Great value for price.
Variety of places- cities, country and free time; Guides friendly personable and knowledgeable
Had an absolute wonderful tour of the Netherlands.
This was a worry-free trip. The itinerary was excellent and the tour director outstanding.
Cosmos tours offers good value for travel. However, the hotel's may not be centrally located. Transportation to and from the hotels may sometimes be complicated or costly.
Our guide Peter was fantastic. Not only was he knowledgeable he was very personable. He related well with all passengers from seniors to young adults. Our driver Bert also did a super job driving and assisting people with their luggage and on and off the coach. We had one hotel that was very lacking. It was not up to the standards normally seen in Cosmos lodging arrangements. This was the Postillion in Arnhem.
I liked the Cosmos tour and the details of this trip. It was a moderate pace and not too rushy
Very professional. The tour was as per the itinerary and with good pace. I enjoyed this tour very much.
Affordable Tours is top notch
We had a great trip with Cosmos. It was our first time traveling with Cosmos and everything went so smoothly and professionally. We would certainly book another tour in the future.
Our first day in Amsterdam began with a canal cruise which was very enjoyable. After a trip to the diamond factory, we had a brief tour of the city by bus. Then we found ourselves with 5 hours of free time. It would have been nice to be prepared for that amount of free time before we hit the streets of Amsterdam. I would have bought tickets for the tram and the art museum to fill the time before dinner.
Linda, You were the best c/s rep I have experienced. Thanks for all your help, I am keeping your contact info.
Patricia, our tour guide, was quite attentive and made sure the tour group of 42 persons was well informed. She got us up and onboard early on our second day, to get to Keukenhof Gardens before the rush. We were the first bus to arrive, and had some time to explore the gardens with minimal congestion. By the time we left, we counted over 100 other buses, plus cars. The experience was much better for all of us due to the early arrival. Patricia continued in this manner throughout the trip. I also found that the tour members all intermingled and got along quite well. One other note: we had time at various stops, including Kuekenhof and Amsterdam city center, to go off on our own. I saw several other tour groups who basically seemed to be following the tour guide wherever they went, and at the guide's pace. Free reign is better.
I think Cosmos provides good value for money paid.
Tour guide was excellent! Tour staff on phone and email was excellent!
It was very disorganized. The optional dinner restaurant was not good , the staff we're rude. The night before the end of our trip we had to carry our own luggages because there weren't any available hotel porters.
It was very disorganized. The restaurants for the optional dinner wasn't worth it. The servers in that particular Restaurant were rude. The food wasn't good. On our last night in the hotel we had to carry our own luggages , there aren't hotel staff to help us that was the night before our trip ended.
I was glad to take this Greece trip this year. It was wonderful, and I enjoyed it very much. The group was very nice too. The cruise and the islands was beautiful and had a lot of fun. Thank you.
Generally speaking, Cosmos hotels are often far out, away from the center of cities. On this tour it didn't really bother me because we didn't really have much time to go out and explore on our own. The tour director offered a couple of extra possibilities and then helped us do those - I appreciated that. She didn't have to do that, but she did, and not just did, she volunteered to do it.
Cosmos continued to offer excellent value for the money. The tour director was fabulous - one of the best. Hotels were great and have been improving in recent years with larger rooms and showers that don't send water onto the floor!
