    Questions & Answers

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?

Each person is allowed one "check-in," and one "carry-on." Remember to take all valuables with you as "carry-on", because electronic equipment, cameras, laptops, jewelry, business documents and money are not covered by the airlines' liability, so always carry them aboard with you.

Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?

Airfare from your point of origin to and from the trip is not included in the land price.

Gate1 put together a fabulous tour that included all the things we were hoping to see and do. Our tour manager was very knowledgeable and helpful, and our driver was very safe and professional. The fall colors were just at the right time. We would definitely book another tour through Affordable Tours and Gate1.

The lodging on this tour was pretty sub par. In New Hampshire the hotel was up on a hill a couple miles from town. The hotel's shuttle broke down so we were stuck up there with no restaurant. Since we were the last group of the hotel's season they could not have cared less about us. There was only 1 cab company who had only 4 cars! So obviously we had no choice to be gauged paying cab fees!! There was no restaurant. In Vermont the hotel's plumbing was so bad our tub was backing up. Breakfast was a disaster as staff called in sick creating all kind of problems. The countryside was beautiful and the colored leaves were gorgeous. Our tour guide was ok. He was a very sweet guy but had not been doing this tour for a long time so he was still learning about the area. It is such a shame that Gate 1 did not put together a tour with better lodging choices. I travel with them extensively on their international tours which they do a great job on. However, I will not take another domestic tour with them nor will I recommend anyone else do so either.

I would recommend that the tour gives more time spent at the Norman Rockwell Museum. Not enough time to see everything. The fall foliage was beautiful. I would also recommend staying at hotels closer to towns so the people that don't want to take the optional excursions are in walking distance to see things on their own and not have to depend on taxi's.
