Tour Itinerary
From mountains to mammals, everything is bigger in Alaska. In the 20+ hours of summer sunlight a day, even the produce grows to fair-winning proportions. Of course, the 70-pound Matanuska Valley cabbage is just the beginning of the big sights this sun-soaked tour of Alaska has to offer. Just wait until you cruise along the three-mile face of the Columbia Glacier, sail by the calving tidewater glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park and ascend into Denali National Park – home of North America’s highest peak – by way of the world-famous Alaska Railroad. Other big moments include panning for gold at Fairbanks’ Gold Dredge #8, seeing a mushing demonstration at the home of an Iditarod champion, and witnessing the grandest of wildlife from Alaska’s majestic coasts to its monumental crests. While spotting a giant whale, caribou, moose, or grizzly might be “no biggie” to the locals, we think you’ll agree, this Alaska vacation is huge.

Question: any meals included in this trip?
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Our tour guide was above average and made trip even better. We loved our trip and already thinking of doing another
The food was very average. Many box lunches and 2 super market stops for food to eat in coach!
This trip was SPECTACULAR. Our tour guide was awesome, personable, friendly ang ave each of us 110%. I saw and experience everything i could have hoped for. The weather was good, an excellent driver, etc.
Great trip of a lifetime.
Maya and Affordable tours was very helpful, friendly. We got a great package for the price.
Globus Alaska Tour was one of the best that we have ever been on.
Globus did another outstanding job! It was well planned and orchestrated. The tour director Alex was extremely knowledgeable an shared his love of the land.
The itinerary provided was somewhat generic compared to the many details we actually experienced in our journey! We were and are over-the-top pleased with everything we did and the service and support we recieved!
Great itinerary and location
Amazing trip to Alaska. Excellent tour guide. Highly recommend.
Was a wonderful trip, tour director and bus driver were exceptional.
Spectacular Alaska is a well planned tour with intensive and interesting itinerary. The only thing I would change is stop in Fairbanks. We spent the whole day getting there and another day on excursions which were way less interesting than others on this trip. I would replace it with more time in Denali and Wrangell parks.
Great trip and great value.
Very nice Tour, well organized!
Second trip with Globus using Affordable Tours. Expectations were high based on our first trip. Globus did not disappoint and Affordable Tours made it very easy to book our trip. will use both again.
Excellent Tour Director with Globus (Sylvia), also excellent coach driver (Jim).
Alaska Adventure was great - especially having a great Tour Guide and bus driver made the trip even better.
It exceeded my expectations. Personally the tour director makes a lot of difference on how the whole trip succeeds. Ive been to many tours, yes the the tour director did their job I supposed but with Todd D , our tour director on this trip was really fantastic, well rounded personality, knowledgeable, patient. He really made us all comfortable and the driver, Marilyn was awesome, the two are very good partners.
Wonderful tour guide. Tracy best ever!
This was an excellent tour. It did come with a disclaimer that you are going to the wilds of Alaska so the hotels may not be what you have come to expect from Globus but we did stay at the best available and I was very pleased with the accommodations. As usual the tour director and driver were excellent.
The "Spectacular Alaska" trip was AMAZING! Alaska is the most beautiful place I have visited so far - pristine natural beauty, grand views of the glaciers, snow covered mountains, lakes, valleys, rivers, northern lights. Watching animals in their natural habitat was a great experience. The itinerary included multiple interactions with the locals and it made us connect with the place. The hotels selected were the best possible options available in the area, and was planned very well with number of optional tours included. I am glad I chose Globus and affordable tours for planning my trip - special mention and thanks to our tour director; she was exceptional and had passion for her job. Her stories about Alaskan experience were not just "commentary." She, along with our coach driver, made it a very positive and memorable and fun experience for the whole group. Tips: Make sure you have good zoom in your camera or have good binoculars when you travel to enjoy the wildlife.
The Tour Director was excellent at organizing and informing everyone. She had many useful little tips from her vast experience and connections to vendors, people involved at hotels, excursions, and also curried favor in return for her helpful nature. A real person with patience, yet firm and fair. Our bus driver was also one of the elite!
This was an amazing journey!
Excellent tour guide and bus driver! Lots of wild life to see.
Mostly very good trip. Some real issues, however. Sheraton Anchorage (first hotel) had no welcome packet for us, as given to tour participants. And restaurant was closed on arrival evening. Valdez Mountainsky hotel room quality was poor, hot water intermittent, breakfast arrangements unpleasant (different building), and room not made up overnight. Denali bus tour was over 8 hours long, and had no lunch or dinner, only a crummy snack box. Denali wilderness tour was supposed to be by Tundra ATV (per Globus), but turned out to be a school-bus-type vehicle.
We had a wonderful trip to Alaska. Both the operator and the travel agent exceeded our expectations.
Our tour director is one of the best in the business. She was well organized and provides a detailed history of the areas visited. Our driver was very safe. I felt secure the entire trip.
A Great Trip. One of the best I have taken.
tour leader was excellent, we were well taken care of, bus driver was also great. Had a wonderful time, alaska in Sept. was lovely as we caught the fall foiliage. All tourist areas shut down our last weekend so we avoided crowds which was nice. Only had one bad day of rain and we were traveling on bus during that time.
We had a great time in Alaska. Globus tour director and motor coach driver could not have been better. They went out of their way to make us a comfortable as possible.
Globus Tours was so geared to making us have the best time possible and the best experience possible. I especially liked that when we spotted animals from the bus, they were willing to stop and move the bus so we would get the best views possible (of course, without hurting the animals). I've been on other tours with other operators where they would not stop if we saw animals.
I have done 2 other escorted tours with Globus, and was very happy with the hotel rooms, and tour operator. On this tour, I was not happy with either one. The tour operator seemed to have favorirtes. Her favorites were big families and couples. Familes are great, but it was getting annoying. She also talked a lot, and gave direction information in the middle of all that talk. We were late to the places we wanted to go, and we ended up rushing with sightseeing. I got a lousy room with no view in Denali. I told her, and she said, she coud not do anything about it. I am still happy that I went because Alaska is truely beautiful.
My negative review of the services received from Globus concerned the upgrade we did for the train trip from Fairbanks to Denali. We upgraded to the Gold star service because of our previous experience with doing that for the Rocky Mountaineer, but found out it was a total waste of money and basically a ripoff. The only advantage of upgrading was to have a upper deck observation deck compared to what we would have had if we hadn't upgraded. The train even charged you extra if your choice of juice wasn't one of their preferred drinks! This is something that I feel will cause a lot of travelers to complain about.
GLOBUS did a wonderful job!! Our Tour Director, was knowledgeable and personable. She treated everyone like a dear friend. The bus driver was also terrific! Both these individuals made our trip extra special!!
Everything went well
