Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Everything was set up exactly perfect from departure to landing. Once I arrived in Italy Trafalgar agents were waiting for people in the group at the airport and brought us to the hotel where we were greeted by our tour guide. He was above and beyond amazing. Our hotels were clean and centrally located to major sites. He was kind and understanding as well as highly informed about all of Italy. I highly recommend this trip and I also recommend participating in all the additional excursions offered. We did not have to wait on any lines to enter cites by participating in the additional excursions. Buon Voyage.
Trip was more strenuous than we had expected. Our tour director, Lutezia was outstanding. She went above and beyond to insure that everyone had a memorable experience,
Giuseppe was an outstanding tour guide and took every measure to ensure the enjoyment, safety, planning, and overall comfort of his guests. This tour satisfies all of Italy's favorites. Two recommendations, the first was to include the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel as paid options in lieu of optional experience, and the other was to plan on being in Florence on a day other than Monday when both academia and uficci museums were closed so we could not see the David and other treasures. It was worth extending our stay in Venice one more night, just to tone down and relax before leaving. We look forward to booking another excursion though trafalgar and plan to recommend this tour to others.
The tour director was perfect!
Our travel director and bus driver provided excellent services. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at, 2 out of 4 met expectations and only one met meal expectations. We realize that the trip was to give us a sampling of the different areas, the only area that we were disappointed in was Florence as our only full day there was on a Monday and the museums are all closed on Mondays, poor planning. Additionally, based on location of the hotel, we weren\'t able to experience Tuscany. One last suggestion, perhaps on the end of the trip, you could extend Venice one more day. Again, based on how the trip was planned, it only allowed us one day in Venice and we loved Venice and wished we could see more. In ending, the trip went well and everything went timely and without any issues. Our agent was able to readjust plans when whether did not permit certain activities. She was very knowledgable and friendly.
'Optional' 'experiences' (side trips) needed to be taken to experience the most from the area and your available time. Personally, unexpected and costly. Schedule visited Florence, Italy on a Monday. The major (most) museums are closed on Monday's! Very unhappy and disappointed unable to see major art work, etc. Travel director from Trafalgar was superb and made the trip very acceptable. All in all, a wonderful experience!
We were disappointed with the hotel we stayed in in Rome, Italy. It was too far away from the city center. The beds were much too hard. The rooms were not at all sound proof. We could hear the toilets flush and the shower running in the room next door. The food was not that great either.
We had a great tour-leisurely but with enough optional side trips if you so desired. Hotels were very nice but 2 of them didn't have WiFi in the rooms only hotel lobby and 1 was even having trouble with that. I do think that in this day and age Wi Fi is a must not an option. People who are away from home need to be able to connect with things in that way (and I'm not even a BIG facebook/internet person) Our tour director Marisa was knowledgeable and friendly. Called us her Bambini s-had people in our group from Australia, New Zealand, Canada and both coast of US-great bunch of people. This for me was a 17 year old granddaughter/gramma trip-pictures cannot do justice to the things/places that we saw. She was out of school for 2 weeks but we called it a field trip and she learned more on that trip than she probably would have in school--FABULOUS-thanks
Slight problem was the trafalgar tour's itinerary got us in Florence on a Monday and the museums were closed so that kind of put a damper on seeing the DAVID. That was the schedule was set we couldn't get around that. but other than that, everything was good!!
Instead of the tour starting in the north, then down to the south of Italy and ending back up in the north again, it would make more sense starting in the south and working up toward the north. Maybe this would create less travel time between cities and more time discovering the country and towns.
Trip was wonderful - only complaint was that the hotel in Amalfi Coast was changed and I don\'t believe it was comparable to what we were supposed to have - most of our group were disappointed with that hotel - just as far as accomodations - staff and restaurant were fine.
We had a great time in Italy exploring the different cities we went to. If we had one complaint it would be about the descriptions of the optional tours that came with the package from Trafalgar. This is our second trip with them and we would probably go back to them with future tours, but the descriptions of the optional tours were limited and didn't give us a very good idea of what we'd be spending extra money on. If we had more information about the optional tours and/or some pictures to go with the description we felt like we could've made a better choice.
