Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
The tour guide, Gerardo, was exceptionally experienced, educated, passionate about teaching, friendly, and very hard working! The hotels were all excellent, and the restaurants we went to were all very good. One of my favorite vacations ever!
Love Gate 1! Their guides and tour directors are the best
This was a wonderful trip. The scenery, cruising activities, landings, lectures, food, and accommodations were excellent.
Excellent itinerary which exceeded our expectations. Well executed as well. Gate 1 didn't disappoint.
Hotels in the south needed air conditioning. Breakfasts could have been a little better. These are minor complaints...all in all a great trip. Tour leader Lindsey Thorpe was terrific lots of rooms were messed up..twin beds when single was needed and visa versa
The highlight of this trip is our Tour manager ( Nguyen Duy Thang /victor ) He is very thoughtful, humble, generous, honest , compassionate individual. Victor is loyal, resourceful, persistent and extremely organized person . He made our experience in Vietnam tour extremely enjoyable and excellent . Victor deserves 100% as a Tour Manager . Gate 1 must recognize Mr Nguyen Duy Thang (Victor ).
Exceptional experience. The hotels were better than expected and the guide went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good time. Can't beat the price and value.
Gate 1 offers memorable travel experiences. Our tour manager KP went above and beyond to meet our group's travel needs (even helping me with a unique shopping ask).
I’m only concerned with Gate 1 misleading me with the last day that we were supposed to spend another night at the hotel on Dec 30th only to find out that it is not true. I was not able to clarify with my affordable agent as she was off that day. So I called gate 1 instead before booking my own airfare.
The Gate 1 tour guide was wonderful. The boat trip on the Mekong was very nice. Wine, beer, and soft drinks were provided free of charge at lunch and dinner. Most of the meals were Vietnamese food. The staff did a good job of providing alternative food for those that did not eat seafood. Siem Reap was beautiful. We did not choose the tour that continued in to Hanoi which was advertised as two days in Hanoi. However, their flight didn't arrive until 10:30 pm so an additional day in Siem Reap and had only one day in Hanoi.
Great tour manager, friendly, knowledgable, caring
Just completed 12/19-12/31 Tunisia Discovery Tour. Very disappointed with the accommodations in some of the areas as a few of the hotels were sub-par. In one hotel we had no hot water whatsoever. The food in three of the hotels was poor. The bus was uncomfortable, seats were peeling, it was extremely loud while on highways, the sound system poor, and we could hardly hear the tour manager. I feel these are unacceptable for a Gate 1 tours. The trip is rigorous which was fine for me but it needs to be better explained in the description of the trip for those who have mobility issues.
Highly recommended and highly satisfied with this tour. Enjoyed all the Xmas markets n the food delicious.
All my hotel rooms were 4stars, transportation had excellent drivers.

I was not picked up at the airport as I booked and paid for. I had to hire a cab which cost $150 and took 2 hours because the non-English speaking cab driver got lost several times. When I reached the hotel I learned that the hotel for the early nights in Playa del Carman had been changed. I never got an email telling me about the change. The Allergo Hi tower told me that they had never heard of Gate 1 even though this was the hotel on my itinerary. Fortunately there was another Gate 1 participant at the reception guest at the same time and gave me the name of the new hotel and I had a cab take me there. By the time I reached the original hotel Gate 1's office was closed and there was no one to contact. Due to this failure I would never book a Gate 1 tour again and have advised friends not to take any Gate 1 tours. Hopefully I will get reimbursed for the expense I incurred from Cancun Airport to Playa cel Carmen since I was not met and picked up as expected. The tour director was excellent and I saw marvelous sights. All hotels were unsatisfory and the food was mediocre to poor. I am ambivalent about having taken the tour and would never recommend it to anyone.
