We chose not to do an extra excursion but had to go to where it was. ( because of type of tour thus is) We were told your on your own but not given any information of what we could do while waiting.

The Best of Greece tour was an excellent value with memorable in-depth experiences. The Travel Consultant understood and met my travel needs. The Tour Director, was superb, engaging each of us in meaningful ways.

Second, third, and fourth nights had no working air conditioning, suggested we open windows so had bronchitis and coughed the remainder of the trip. Two nights the room was so small furniture blocked walking to both sides of bed. First bus driver honked at cars, and alarmed pedestrians by pulling up too close to intersections. Second bus driver, was fantastic! Tour director emailed me and told me in person at the beginning of the tour she would help me to be seated about 5 rows back to read her lips (I am unable to hear). I could use some mics and speakers to help, but the rear half of the bus was too distant for those to work. She said she could not face the bus riders, but the last three days she walked the isle collecting money. She did not contact the hotels early enough to have room keys and information ready upon arrival. She said one time that the bus would return to the hotel at 12:45. She changed and did not have the bus return for three hours later and a hike of 1/2 mile to get to the bus. Her comment was that it only happened once. For my husband, the extra stress injured his leg so that he rested for two days with ice packs, missing tours. She frequently changed times for luggage and departure and often did not know if there were porters.

Excellent tour director. He does extra things for the clients.

I am very happy with the tour. The director, driver, and accommodations are very good. The view of the city by day and by night was fabulous.

The trip is wonderful with friendly tour director and driver. The hotel at Paris could be better, the room was very warm with no ability to turn on the air conditioning and opern the windows.

Great trip. Some feedback for Trafalgar/AATKings: 1. Those joining at Melbourne did not know that hotel breakfast would be opened early in order to accommodate early departure. Please advise in advance. 2. We got no advance notice that we couldn't take honey onto Kangaroo Island and we had bought 2 jars. Please advise before trip starts. 3. The itinerary was good but we suggest staying longer at Lambert Estate in order to include a tour of their facility and grounds and skip the Artisans of Barossa. 4. When short stops for lunch, please offer some suggestions, e.g. nearest bakery (and that they serve lunch items, not just baked goods) or quick restaurant. 5. A driving tour of Adelaide would be a nice feature to add in after Lamberts or other time. 6. Note in the itinerary that there are limited seats on the Kangaroo Island Nocturnal Tour. 7. Fewer vegetarian options on this trip than other ones. There should be one at each dinner.

Our Scandinavian Northern Lights trip was fantastic! The AffordableTours arrangements were perfect and the travel went well.

Our tour director with Trafalgar was completely amazing! He was so knowledgeable about the area and so many others when you got him talking about other places around the world.

We booked this trip with Trafalgar through the help of Affordable Tours. Everything went smoothly and we were very happy with the services that Affordable Tours and Trafalgar provided. We saw a lot of new things and totally enjoyed the trip. It was wonderful!

The tour staff in Egypt were excellent and highly professional. The Affordable Tours staff did an excellent job. But Trafalgar needs to improve. They provided us with bad information that needlessly caused us problems, discomfort and inconvenience. They told us we had to tip in Egyptian funds. This couldn't be more wrong. Egyptians prefer US funds. They told us we couldn't bring standard wheeled carry-on luggage. This was also wrong. All the planes used were all modern jets that accommodated modern wheeled carry on luggage just fine.

Although we didn't get to go to the Blue Lagoon as anticipated (due to the volcano issues) we went to a different geothermal spring experience which was super, beyond expectations. And we didn't get to go on a boat to see if we could see the northern lights because of bad weather, we were lucky enough to see the northern lights from our hotel. We were on call by our tour director, should the lights appear, we would be called to go outside and view them. BRILLIENT! What a pleasant surprise and unexpected experience. We know of friends and family who have gone to Iceland on more than one occasion and weren't able to see the Northern Lights...but WE DID!!! Overall, I would recommend Trafalgar for this trip, as I would for other trips. My experience has always been a great one. A good mix of driving and free time was included. Terrific guide. Hope to see him for our Trip to Italy.

The director (s) were below average. The itinerary was good but could have been better. Too many temples and one mosque for a majority muslim country. We did not even visit the iconic picture of the trip that was provided by the operator. Handling the hotels reservation, check in and luggage was very poor. The last hotel defiantly was an insult more than less what I expected.

Farewell dinner at Pato Natales was not acceptable and below standard. The male waiter was not serving wine even after asking for it. He poured less than standard amount of wine and did not serve drinks till 45 mts. You can tell it was all about cost.

The tour of Italy that we took with Trafalgar was amazing. In 2 weeks, we saw virtually the entire country. Our Trafalgar tour manager made the whole experience both informative and relaxing. The tour, with her direction, encompassed all major attractions, but, more importantly, lesser known or visited sites that made for a perfect overview of the country.

We had a memorable enjoyable experience in turkey our travel director was so excellent providing us a good travel experience , thoughtful, attentive to our needs and hospitable , the driver was good and keeping the coach clean and was a comfortable ride every destination we travelled. I highly recommend Trafalgar for our family and friends.

Very professionally organized group tour.

I was dissatisfied with the locals tour guides.

Fast paced as tour covers 5 countries/8 cities in 9 days. Lots of walking. Lots of bus rides going from location to location. Great way to see a lot in short period of time. Tour director and driver were great. Optional events also very good and reasonably priced.

We were pleasantly surprised to find Trafalgar had added additional dinners and side trips to the Christmas markets for the holidays. Quite a bonus! Our tour director was absolutely wonderful.

The Best of Portugal is a great tour. Our Trafalgar tour director was fantastic, the itinerary was excellent and although the group was large, things were well managed! Would definitely recommend this tour.

Trafalgar did a great job with getting us safely from arrival to departure. There was a tour manager all the way to make sure we knew where to go in the airport. The itinerary wasn't jam-packed. It provided us with some relaxing time as well. I'd hope that Abu Simbel would be integrated into the itinerary because it was quite pricey for an optional tour. Throughout the tour, we felt safe and well informed as to what we can and cannot take pictures of.

The trip did not disappoint. Trafalgar was great; they took care of you, we did everything plus more than we expected on the itinerary, they were interesting, did everything that they could to make you happy and they were professional.

Our Travel Directors with Trafalgar was simply amazing! He knew literally every street in Rome and loves Rome dearly! He did an extraordinary job and took excellent care of everyone on the tour! Local specialists at St. Peters Basilica and Vatican City, Tivoli Fountains, Pompeii, Florence ( statue of David & Accademia) and Venice (wonderful local flavor of daily life centered around water taxis) were just fantastic! Our trip of a lifetime!!

This was an amazing trip, definitely more than we expected it to be. The travel director was amazing making everyone feel heard and tended to everyones needs. The itinerary was busy but without a doubt it was a Grand Experience of Italy, a great first introduction if you never have been and it allows you to see the big sights so when you plan on coming back you know what you want to do more or less of. The best trip by far I have done with Trafalgar.

Trafalgar provided a first class trip and we would use them again. People need to realize how packed a trip can be. Between tours, breakfast lunch and dinners, each day is very full. An itinerary where you can stay at one place for at least 2-3 nights would be preferable, rather than having to pack and unpack every night. The hotels they picked were fine and we enjoyed all excursions, with the exception of the Prague one of a "folklore" dinner. They should update this one.

I had never taken a tour before, and was extremely leery of the outcome. After that being said, this was the most amazing trip ever, my husband for our first vacation ever did not have to plan. Map will drive. It was all taken care of for us every movement every meal. Of course you had choices we chose to go with our tour guide and do what she wanted us to do its our country. I will always use a tour company and affordable tours may be correct decision on the company that I was looking for based off of what I told her I was looking for job well done guys

The Colorful Trails of the Southwest Trafalgar tour was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. Helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, lunch with the Navajo in Monument Valley, the tour of Taos Pueblo, the drive to Ouray from Durango had spectacular views, steam train from Silverton to Durango had amazing views and was so fun! I can't recommend this trip enough.

This was a great trip and would provide a good 'taste of' the entire country of Spain. That said, because it covered so many miles it means you're on the bus more than I'd given thought to. Older people or folks with physical challenges might want to consider the 'leisurely' style trips instead of this one.

Trafalgar provided us with a wonderful tour. Sometimes, it felt as though we were rushing through places, but I understand that Trafalgar wanted to show us as much as they could in the time that we had. This was my 1st ever tour and I was very happy. Our tour Director, was spectacular. She was full of energy, was always positive, displayed extensive knowledge of the area and thoroughly enjoyed her job.

The Tour Director was professional, detailed and knowledgeable. We were well guided and oriented on what to expect to the places that where going to.

All the accommodations were better than I expected. The accommodations were super clean and well maintained. Housekeeping staff was attentive.

My trip to Greece was seamlessly Amazing!. All I needed was my passport. From the airport to transfers, people standing by to retrieve us & take us to the next stop. So easy!

Extremely pleased with the quality of the entire tour. This included the tour director, bus driver, walking tour experts, most hotels, meals, optional tours, etc.

Switzerland was incredible and our tour guide was outstanding. We enjoyed almost every part of the tour including the hotel rooms (not impressed with Lucernes hotel Europa but hotel in Lake Maggiore was like a hotel for a king), all cities we saw and all of the excursions. The group was also fun. All and all the trip was fantastic. The boat ride on Lake Geneva was definitely not up to speed but all of the other excursions we took exceeded our expectations. Good job. One other, the driver was crazy good.

We were taken cared of from the first day until to transfer to the airport. Our TD made sure that we are always on time and I saw his point and the advantage of being on the tour site early! It was so nice to tour around and take pictures with not so many people around. We were also privileged to have a physics teacher drove us to the airport! He's more than qualified to be a TD! 

Italy was a great trip the staff did a great job keeping us on track and moving.

The Trafalgar Whirlwind of Europe Tour was unbelievable. Top to bottom was fantastic, the tour director, driver, motor coach, accommodations, excursions and food were all outstanding.

Excellent experience

The Best of Portugal trip was an amazing journey with an experienced tour guide and the fellow travelers. There was an incredible opportunity not only for sightseeing but an immersive experience in the history, traditions and culture of Portugal! We would strongly recommend this trip and will definitely do it with Trafalgar again!

The trip was better than expected because we had an excellent travel director and we had only four couples in our group. We got personal attention every day and we did a few extra things because we could move through a site quickly (no standing behind others to wait on a photo, etc).

Ashford Castle was unbelievable! It dates back to the year 1228, has dark wood paneling, ornate carpeting, and chandeliers throughout. We arrived by ferry boat and received a Scottish bagpipe escort to the castle main entrance where the staff lined up to await our arrival. My single room was a small apartment with a hallway, a small bathroom and master bedroom and flatscreen wall-mounted tv on the first floor plus a flight of stairs that led to the wardrobe closets and grand master bathroom with tub, heated towel rail and bathroom floor, double sinks, and built-in bench for changing. The grounds have a fountain, garden, and walkways that lead to a falconry school that you may attend. Other activities you may sign up for include clay pidgeon shooting, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and boat fishing. Notable guests include the Prince of Wales / King George V, John Lennon, George Harrison, John Wayne, Maureen Oâ??Hara and the cast and crew of the film The Quiet Man, Bill Clinton, and Brad Pitt. Highly recommended!!!

I highly recommend the Best of France with Trafalgar. The itinerary was what I was what I had anticipated and the Travel Director and local specialists were all very good.

Everything was set up exactly perfect from departure to landing. Once I arrived in Italy Trafalgar agents were waiting for people in the group at the airport and brought us to the hotel where we were greeted by our tour guide. He was above and beyond amazing. Our hotels were clean and centrally located to major sites. He was kind and understanding as well as highly informed about all of Italy. I highly recommend this trip and I also recommend participating in all the additional excursions offered. We did not have to wait on any lines to enter cites by participating in the additional excursions. Buon Voyage.

I took my 22 year old nephew with me on this tour as a gift for his college graduation. Our Trafalgar tour "TRADITIONAL EUROPE" which we booked through Affordable Tours, was amazing and everything we hoped for. The tour was on a fast pace which we had expected with the tour consisting of 9 countries and 25 cities in 18 days. My wife and I being 75 years old spent two months walking each morning before the tour which paid off. We had six of us on the tour including our two grand daughters, ages 13 and 15 who had the best time of their lives. The food was excellent with most of the hotels first class and centrally located. The tour director, was great, well experienced and well prepared. He has a friendly personality bringing the group together with us making many new friends. The bus driver, was friendly and very experienced keeping us safe and always on a timely schedule. Save your pennies in advance and take as many if not all of the excursions that are offered to make the most of your trip.

I had a great time in Ireland. Much more than I had anticipated. Great trip, and people.

Wonderful trip. Beautiful country of ours. The hotels were mostly very good. The food could have been better, however the area does not boast wonderful restaurants and fabulous food. The Tour Director and Bus driver were fabulous and our fellow travelers were a wonderful group of people. Ages from late 20'S - late 70's. The hiking was challenging at times.

The itinerary was ambitious 5 countries in 8 days (looks like 10 but you can't count arrival & departure) but exactly what we wanted, an overview. Trafalgar guide was excellent provided much historic info & thoughtful traditional treats along the way.

It should be noted that this is an Island Hopper, not a bus tour, as some of the guests were confused. I enjoyed the tour immensely, and our TD, was gracious, attentive, and ever-helpful. Greece is stunning, and I hope to return. I strongly suggest traveling in "shoulder season" to avoid massive crowds.

We still can't stop talking about the Scenic Parks Explorer trip through Trafalgar Tours. Our guide was fantastic. He really made the whole experience enjoyable. Everything was so well organized and top notch. The beauty of our western states is breathtaking and touring in a luxury coach is the way to go. We've said many times since that we'd go again in a heartbeat. If this is on your bucket list don't hesitate.

4th trip with Trafalgar, never been disappointed.

Our trip was wonderful. We saw a lot and learned from our tour director and local guides. We had dinners in local restaurants and people's homes and in New Orleans at a cooking school. All in all, a great trip!

Tour exceeded expectations in many ways. Much more included information and sight seeing. It would help to have more facts and fewer adjectives in descriptions. We added all the optional tours which added to the expense but gave us much more experience and took care of almost all of the meals. It would have been nice to know the price, time and details before the trip. The tour director was excellent too. Not just in his knowledge, patience, sense of humor, and experience but also in his flexibility to enhance our experience when he could. Two examples: when all went on the optional excursion he changed the route to the next location to include more scenery and when we were going to get to our hotel early he added in more coach tour of the city. All but two of the hotels were excellent. One that was not did not actually have an accessible room as claimed. The local guides were excellent too!!! We enjoyed the other travelers, a mix of U.S., Canada and Australian. Good food on included and optional meals (included wine, beer and soft drinks). The bus driver was great too and it would be good to note that the bus has a bathroom. We hope to travel like this again.

The travel director and bus driver need a raise. They were exceptional and made the trip fantastic. They were very friendly including everyone on the trip itself.

The tour of South Africa was a wonderful experience. The tour director and coach driver were excellent and was very attentive to our inquires and requests. I would suggest offering a pre and post optional extensions given that most people travel long distances to get to South Africa.

Trafalgar and Affordabletours were amazing as usual. Will use both companies again and again.

This tour had some very interesting experiences such as dinner in a local Pueblo near Albuquerque. It also included trips to some out of he way National Parks that many tour operators don't include. This was truly a wonderful experience.

Amazing trip. Not for the faint of heart or physically challenged. It was fast paced, long days and extremely high altitude. That being said, it was a once in a life time experience

The tour was everything we hoped. It is well balanced between city and nature. The Isle of Skye was a highlight and well worth the long bus day. We really enjoyed the included and optional excursions that involved connecting with the local people. Highly recommended.

Our tour director was totally amazing!!! She was highly knowledgable about all the cities, sights and history of the UK. Her personality was delightful, with a wonderful sense of humor!! She made the trip amazing!!! Our driver was exceptional as well!!! He was great and went above and beyond helping everyone in and out of the coach along with all the luggage. He was always the perfect gentleman and his personality matched that of our director making the tour more fun than I could have ever imagined!!!

She was a cheerful person and shows that she loves her job. The bus driver was fantastic the way he handled that big bus in small areas. A great driver.

The experience was great! I just wish some rooms had better air conditioners. We had a fantastic time and was with a fun crowd. The tour leader was outstanding.

Our Best of Turkey tour was wonderful. Cem was the best Tour Director we have ever had!!!! We have traveled to 40 countries over 23 years so that is really saying something.

It was a good trip. The accommodations were good. We went through 2 of the worlds best wine growing regions Burgundy and Bordeaux and stopped at one winery, but the itinerary never mentioned wine tasting. It only said wine would be offered with dinner in Bordeaux region. So I booked another venue that stopped at 3 wineries.

Was great trip everyone had excellent time. Everything work so good.

You can prepay many of the optional experiences and gratuities ahead of time. Consider doing this if you are on a budget and paying in advance.

This was our first time traveling with Trafalgar and it was great. We had a great time on this tour and would highly recommend.

The Trafalgar tour more than met our expectations. Our family of eight, 3 generations had the trip of a life time. The tour director could not have been better and we all made such good friends. There were many families on the European Splendor tour so there were all ages which made it fun for everyone. We saw and experienced so much. The heat was the only downside and no one can control that!

Trafalgar in general was wonderful. The only thing that was less than optimal was we hit extremely high temperatures in some places and the air conditioning was limited or in Switzerland there wasn't any in our hotel.

Our trip was definitely a whirl. We saw so much in the limited time that we had. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Just don't expect to see everything in this short of time, but it's a little taste of everywhere you go...and a reason to go back.

We as family of 4 were satisfied with the qualities & services Trafalgar team provided during the trip. The tour director, Brek, was exceptionally supportive of all the things we needed. The driver, Ben was professionally maneuvering the coach safely to all destinations & on time at every locations. He helped tremendously with the loading & unloading of the luggages on & off the coach some of which were heavy too. The well being director assisted us on chance he had..from making sure we are ok, comfortable, safe hygiene, walking safely, looking out for our safety. Overall we are very happy that we had a great, safe, a wonderful experience during the trip.

The first hotel in Waikiki was just so so, the Outrigger was very good and the Hyatt Regency was amazing!

Trip was well planned. Tour director and driver were excellent and professional. It was an outstanding tour for the price.

The only problem was having to stay at Bally's, which is an old, tired casino that happens to have hotel rooms. The front desk staff did not know about breakfast vouchers or luggage delivery to the rooms for tour participants, but the tour director, Donald, took care of all the concerns in a most splendid fashion. Donald, along with Roland, the driver, and Dennis, the well being director, made the trip fun and entertaining. Donald rearranged the trip so that we could get into Yellowstone on the first day it re-opened and as a result, we got to enjoy Cody, Wyoming, and its history, rodeo, and town offerings, which were great fun. Seeing all the natural beauty of the national parks was a truly amazing experience.

Everything about the trip was great! But my tour director Pat made the trip perfect. She went beyond being helpful. She has a great personality and makes you feel like a good friend. I would hope to request her for our next trip.

We toured Scotland. Out tour guide and bus driver were from Scotland which helped to make the trip arrangements go extremely well.

Only the hotel at Oberammergau was the exception. It is below the standards compared with the rest of the hotels.

The Alaskan adventure was spectacular. The train and boat trips exceeded expectations. Everything is expensive in Alaska and some hotels were simply what is available in the wilderness.

The tour director, Joel, was the best one we've ever had on a bus tour. He went out of his way to endure our trip was excellent. I discovered that I can't climb into tall bathtubs and Joel made see that our rooms had walk in showers, even trading his room for ours one time.

Kassie recognized that I would have challenges without her extra ordinary help I don't know how I would have completed this tour and because of her I was able to enjoy this trip Lois was always there keeping an eye out for everyone and the bus driver Amaro was always very helpful and an excellent driver

This was an excellent trip. It had some adventure to it and had outside oriented excursions. The tour director was outstanding. The dinner excursion in Zermatt was absolutely horrible.

The tour travel director was very experienced and gave us constant information on the history of the cities we visited. A fine balance between included and optional experiences. I wish the tour company had provided us with transfer vouchers regardless of our coming early or leaving later than the tour's beginning and its end.
