DAY 1, Thursday - Depart for Mexico
Welcome to Mexico! Arrive in Cancun, and transfer to Playa del Carmen, located on the Riviera Maya, Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 7 PM. We recommend you select flights which arrive no later than 5 PM

DAY 2, Friday - Archaeological Sites of Coba and Tulum
Your day of exploration begins with an excursion to Coba, and Tulum, two of Mexico's most captivating Mayan archaeological sites. Coba boasts the towering Nohuch Mul pyramid, the tallest in the Yucatan Peninsula, nestled within a lush jungle. After discovering Coba, venture to Tulum, renowned for its seaside ruins. On arrival, take a tour of the well-preserved archaeological site, perched atop towering cliffs overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Visit the iconic El Castillo, and the Temple of the Frescoes while gaining insight into the rich history, and culture of the Mayan civilization. Next, have lunch in Tulum before heading back in late afternoon. Free time to relax before dinner tonight

DAY 3, Saturday - Valladolid, Izamal, Campeche
This morning, travel towards the historic city of Campeche. Along the way, stop in Valladolid, a charming colonial town known for its colorful streets, and historic architecture. Continue exploring the Yucatan's colonial towns with a visit to Izamal, one of Mexico's "Pueblos Magicos," or Magical Towns. Following lunch, embark on a walking tour of the town famous for its distinctive yellow buildings, and ancient Mayan pyramids. Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Campeche in late afternoon. Take an orientation walk of the colonial-era city with its Baroque Spanish architecture. Spend the evening at leisure

DAY 4, Sunday - Full Day in Campeche
Today is free to explore Campeche on your own. Perhaps, participate in the optional Full Day Edzna Ruins with Lunch. Embark on a scenic drive from Campeche to the Maya archaeological site of Edzna. On arrival, take a guided tour through the complex, and marvel at the intricately carved stone monuments, ball courts, and ancient buildings that comprised the city. Learn about the history of the site, which was inhabited as early as 400 BC. Following the tour, head back to Campeche for lunch of regional specialties at a local restaurant. Afterward, return to the hotel

DAY 5, Monday - Uxmal, Merida
Begin your journey with a visit to the archaeological site of Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to 600 AD. Examples of Puuc style architecture can be seen at the terraced Governor's Palace with its 20,000 intricately carved stones that create an image of fine lace. Here, you also view the majestic Pyramid of the Magician, and the four rectangular buildings of the Nunnery Quadrangle. After lunch, continue to Merida, the cultural capital of the Yucatan Peninsula. On arrival, take an orientation walk of the Centro Historico

DAY 6, Tuesday - Full Day in Merida
Spend the day at leisure, or join the optional Full Day Celestun with Lunch. This morning, drive from Merida to the coastal town of Celestun, renowned for its natural beauty, and abundant wildlife. Upon arrival, board a boat, and begin an unforgettable adventure through the Celestun Biosphere Reserve. As you glide through the coastal mangrove forests, view the flora and fauna. Chance to see flamingos in their natural habitat, along with pelicans, herons, and other species. Following the boat tour, have lunch with views of the beach in Celestun before returning back to the hotel

DAY 7, Wednesday - Chichen Itza, Cancun
Depart Merida this morning, and travel to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. This metropolis, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the principal ceremonial center of the Yucatan. Take a guided tour of the ancient ruins, including the towering Pyramid of Kukulkan, and the Great Ball Court. Learn about the history of Chichen Itza, along with the unusual beliefs, and rituals that defined this ancient Mayan civilization. Following lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Cancun, Mexico's resort city bordering the Caribbean Sea. This evening, bid adios to your Tour Manager at dinner
