DAY 3, Wednesday - Tarangire National Park
Travel to the vast Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire River and its tributaries provide the only permanent water supply on Maasai land during the dry season, thus supporting a great diversity of wildlife. Embark on an afternoon game drive. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, followed by dinner at the lodge

DAY 4, Thursday - Tarangire Game Drives
The thrilling sounds of the animals and birds in the bush awaken you. Take an early morning and afternoon game drives in beautiful Tarangire National Park. Time for personal pursuits before tonight's dinner

DAY 5, Friday - Lake Manyara National Park
After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its nimble blue monkeys and elephants. The afternoon is free to rest and enjoy the amenities of the lodge. This evening, have dinner at the lodge

DAY 6, Saturday - Serengeti National Park
Depart this morning for Serengeti National Park. The vast plains of the Serengeti host a high concentration of game. The first game drive explores the lush Seronera Valley, known for its lion and leopard populations, as well as a variety of other wildlife. At dusk, head to the campsite for dinner

DAY 7, Sunday - Serengeti Game Drives
Rise before dawn for the optional Sunrise Balloon Safari. Take off in a hot air balloon as the sun rises. A champagne breakfast awaits you at the end of the journey. Continue game viewing as you drive back to camp. Then, explore Moru Kopjes (weather permitting), an area of excellent game viewing all year round. At the lodge tonight, savor a delicious dinner

DAY 8, Monday - Serengeti Game Drives

DAY 9, Tuesday - Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Olduvai Gorge Museum
Bid farewell to the Serengeti plains, and continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping en route to visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum with its displays of fossils that provide significant evidence of our ancestors almost four million years ago. Tonight, dinner is at the lodge

DAY 10, Wednesday - Ngorongoro Game Drive
Explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Africa's "Garden of Eden." Descend almost 2,000 feet to the floor of the crater, which contains a diverse ecosystems and a high concentration of birds and animals. You may spot elephants, lions, gazelles, zebra and perhaps even the endangered rhino. Following lunch at the lodge travel to Arusha. Time to relax before tonight's dinner. Tonight, at dinner, bid farewell to your Tour Manager, on your last night in Tanzania

Our experience on this trip was “epic”. Our team in Kenya, David, Marcus and Tony were wonderful, as was the team in Tanazina of Godliving, HQ, and Baraka. All of the places we stayed were very good. The food was good as well. The vehicles were great for the safari, better then some we saw! Not sure what could be done better, this was just a once in a life time experience! We are telling everyone about this trip, everyone who wants to go to Africa will be looking at Gate 1 for details! Thank you

Our Gate 1 tour manager, Hari Saravan, was exceptional in every way possible. We have not ever (even when we have had personal guides by other operators) had such a positive experience with a guide. He was very organized, communicated effectively and in a timely way in terms of trip management, was personable and highly accessible, and helpful in sorting out minor challenges and questions. Hari was extraordinarily knowledgeable and conveyed his knowledge and expertise in effective and accessible ways. He simply is extraordinary and in large part the reason for our having had such a positive experience in this group tour. An asset in every way imaginable. We would point out that at least one of the accommodations, Great Trails Riverview Resort Thanjavur By GRT Hotels, was notably sub-standard. Other hotels (the Radisson Blu) were marginal.

We had a wonderful tour director in Tim De Jong. His attention to detail was amazing. He showed wonderful leadership qualities and was able to bond the tour group into one happy family. At the same time he regaled us with stories of the various places we visited. We had a little disappointment that we could not see Franz Josef glacier as the coastal road south of Greymouth was closed. However the alternate route from Arthur’s Pass to Dunedin, and from Dunedin to Queenstown through gold country towns was very scenic. I would suggest adding an extra day in Queenstown with an option drive to Glenorchy. The local people were very friendly and helpful. The food was always great! This trip is highly recommended.
