Question: do they have this tour in the summer of 2019?
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
The trip was good for the money paid. Hotels can be better. One hostel that was rated star ahold be rated one because there was a hole in the dining room ceiling that water was dripping in me as I was eating dinner. Too much time was spent on the bus driving from one city to the next. While this is expected, it would of been better to have extra time to be able to explore the cities visited. The places visited were absolutely beautiful.
Good programme. Thoughtful, knowledgeable and very experienced tour director. Excellent coach driver.
Our trip tour manager was everything we would Like to have and taking care about everything on a tour and sharing the love to his country with us .
Edo was an excellent tour director who went above and beyond to ensure all on a very large group of 42 enjoyed themselves. Croatia and Slovenia are great countries to visit, historic and scenic, with a friendly reception wherever we went.
A number of people on the tour had traveled with Gate1 several times. This repeat suggests to me that their experiences are consistently good and that the price is comparable / better than other tours. The hotels were better than I had expected, the food was over the top! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing his knowledge in a timely manner without talking excessively. He was also very open to questions and answered them thoroughly. The local guides that were organized to lead at various cities were also terrific. My group had only 28 people in it which made it very pleasant indeed; I would not like it to have exceeded 30. It gave us plenty of space on the bus and was manageable during walking tours. The 'whispers' were a great idea, too. Overall, I will check out AffordableTours.com when searching for my next trip.
Great value for your money !
My trip went very smooth. The location of the hotels were good. Most of the hotels were comfortable with good breakfast. I like our driver and tour guide, they are very nice and professional. Didn't feel that bad even with long hours driving in some days. I did very enjoy my trip. Thanks.
I am a big Gate1 fan and have been on several escorted tours with them. However, this one was my least favorite. The bus time and distances between stops were long...too long. There was also a screw up on the initial meet at arrival that didn't make me happy. The hotel accommodations were acceptable, but not always in the most convenient locations. The guide was very good and knowledgeable, but mellow. Perhaps a little too subdued for my taste.
Really enjoyed our guide in Croatia/Slovenia.
also the Gate 1 staff in Europe were amazing, the main guide was so impressive and well educated (Kristijan), the bus driver was also sweet and flexible, the city guides were pleasant and helpful, the itinerary was good, I would feel comfortable going back on my own to further explore the areas I was exposed to on this tour
Gate1 was very, very good and the tour was exceptional.
I was very pleased with this trip, it exceeded my expectations! The tour manager was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The optional tours were reasonably priced and worthwhile and the hotel accommodations were first rate. I traveled alone and my one fear was that I would be stuck in postage stamp sized rooms with a single bed. But happily that was not the case, I had queen and king sized beds in comfortably large rooms at each hotel we stayed. All in all this was a great trip. For the amount I paid, I couldn't be more satisfied.
Our tour operator went above and beyond to ensure the trip experience was to their customer satisfaction. Due to a traffic delay, no fault of their own, departure transfers were late to accommodate some return flights. Gate 1 supplied meals and accommodation for the extra day to accommodate those who missed their connecting flights and threw in an impromptu tour of Venice, the departure city, to boot! Excellent experience! Great job Gate 1!

My tour guide Tena was absolutely the best, she was a total delight and very knowledgeable. Our bus driver Robi was the best driver I have ever had the pleasure to be a passenger for. However there are few things I strongly suggest for future trips; the amount of time required to be on the bus is way too long. One some days were on the bus for a total of 8 hours and just because the bus stops and lets us off after 4hrs for a 2-3 hour break before we get back on is just too much sitting. I am in my mid 30s and this was too much time on the bus, very uncomfortable. I was traveling with my mom who has a surgical repaired knee and this was too much for her. If you are going to keep people on the bus that long you have to schedule more rest stops/breaks so people can stretch out their bodies. You need to add into the itinerary just how long the drives are going to be from stop to stop. Please look into other modes of travelling between destinations such as the train or boat, its bad enough that we are on vacation and had to get up early every day just so we could get on the bus to travel for hours to only be held up at the border for an additional hour or more. Why weren't we offered the ability to fly to other destinations? This was a mothers day gift to my mom who works two jobs I choose this package because I thought this would be a leisurely tour. This was a lot more physically demanding on the body than I intended. They were a lot of older people retiree's and a lot of them would skip some of the tours just so they could rest and relax their bodies. From what I thought this was going to be to what it turned out to be in reality, I could have done without stopping in Opatija, that was a missed opportunity to get more time in Split. consider in the future that if it is pouring down rain and freezing cold don't assist that we still need to do a outside tour of an old palace, please offer an alternative that keeps us inside and warm. Split was a destination I was looking forward to and I didn't get any real time there as we only got to be there for one night. Zagreb was great I wish we had gotten more than 1-2 hours there before we had to head on to our next location. For all the driving this vacation has you should have people fly into Croatia as to cut down on the transportation time that way people have more time to settle in. This trip could have been Split (2 days); Dubrovnik (3 days); Zagreb (2) and Slovenia (2 days) give people a chance to catch their breaths and actually get to see more than the hotel. All that time spent on the bus i spent it sleeping I can't even remember what we drove past or what I saw. This vacation package needs some reconstruction Definitely need to have other means of travelling from one location to the next. I would go back to Croatia but only to spend real time in Split so i can enjoy the market and Zagreb so i can get that downtown city life that I am used to. Overall it was a nice trip but it was too much time on the bus and not enough time enjoying the actual vacation. Also you should warn people before they book that they have to pay for restrooms in these countries.
