Tour Itinerary
Learn about Central Europe’s rich history and its highlights as you travel through the heart of Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Starting from Germany, visit Berlin, the eclectic capital, and Weimar, where culture has been thriving through names like Goethe and Schiller, Bach and Liszt, Modernism and Bauhaus. In Poland, discover Jasna Góra Monastery in Czestochowa, an important pilgrimage spot. Visit Warsaw and Krakow, and stop in Auschwitz to see what is left of the concentration camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Explore the Imperial city of Vienna, Austria, the city of waltz, elegant cafés and the Hapsburg heritage. Get to know Budapest, Hungary, with its predominantly Art Nouveau city center and imposing Parliament building. Prague, in the Czech Republic, boasts Charles Bridge, one of Europe’s oldest stone bridges. Bratislava, Slovakia, built on the bank of the Danube, features a castle and a charming old town. Before returning to your starting point in Germany, spend some time in Nuremberg, the Bavarian city that, in spite of its troubled past, is keeping the best traditions alive, such as brewing beer, grilling sausages and enjoying life. Sightseeing with a Local Guide—a local expert who knows the history, culture, and secrets of the city—is included in Berlin, Warsaw, Kraków, Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. This is a comprehensive Central Europe tour, ideal for smart travelers who want to turn their travel dreams into reality.

FRANKFURT AREA–WEIMAR–BERLINOur first stop today is in Weimar, one-time intellectual heart of Germany and host to such luminaries as Martin Luther, Cranach, Bach, Liszt, Schiller, and, of course, Goethe himself. Day 3
BERLINOn this morning’s included guided tour, learn how the city is no longer divided but every bit as fascinating. Once the city of contrasts with its West and East side separated into two different worlds by a wall, Berlin developed into a harmonious blend of old and new. It has preserved the old buildings, such as the State Opera House and Brandenburg Gate; its Neoclassic-style boulevards, such as the Kurfürstendamm and Unter den Linden. This is now complemented by brand new buildings in the most daring, contemporary architectural styles. It is once again Germany’s capital and one of Europe’s most lively and interesting cities. (B)
Meals: Breakfast -

Meals: Breakfast -
Day 5

WARSAW–JASNA GÓRA–AUSCHWITZ–KRAKÓWTwo encounters with history on your southbound journey today. Since then, its Black Madonna has become the country’s national symbol. In the afternoon, visit what is left of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Evening arrival in Kraków. Today’s Distance: 289 mi/ 465 km (B,D)
Meals: Breakfast Dinner -

KRAKÓWThis, they say, is Poland’s most beautiful city. For almost 500 years it was the country’s capital, and today, it is without a doubt its cultural capital. Join the included morning sightseeing in ancient Kraków, for centuries the residence of Polish kings. See the Market Square, the Jewish Quarter, St. Mary’s Church, and visit Wawel Cathedral. Enjoy free time later to explore this fascinating town on your own or go underground with an optional excursion to the Wieliczka salt mines. BUDAPESTBudapest is a treasure trove of architectural wonders, from Gothic to Baroque; Neoclassical to Art Nouveau, but also full of history, a food capital, and surprisingly rich in thermal waters. Question: Departure from where?
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
The Central Europe tour was everything we hope it would be and it even exceeded our expectations.
After trying out first several other companies for my tours, I and my sisters have decided to stick it out with Cosmos/Affordable Tours. We have been with them since 2010, so that means something. Arranging our tours with them were so easy as they have experienced, professional and very accommodating Travel Consultants and one of them is Kevin. if all your employees were like Kevin, your company are in good hands.
We especially enjoyed our tour director. Vivien from Budapest. She was a delight and made everyone feel comfortable.
Cosmos did not meet our expectations but as far as booking the trip we're satisfied, but the booking agency has little to do with the actual trip.
Although we're have traveled with Trafalgar 2 times and were not sure about Cosmos in comparison, this Cosmos tour is the best tour we have been on. The price is lower, the guide and driver were fantastic and the routing was great. Will definitely book with them again.
Great trip. I would recommend that Cosmos schedule roadside stops where sights are located instead of having tourists stand around at a roadside stop with nothing to do
We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Anita was amazing. Our driver Salvatore was awesome. We were given so much information about where we were at each stop. This trip allowed us to leave the details to someone else so that we could just enjoy.
The trip was amazing The tour director was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The only issue I had was with my airport transfer at the end of the trip Cosmos booked a taxi to take me to airport. The taxi would arrive about 1.5 hours before my scheduled flight, too close for my comfort. No one would change the cab pick up time for me. I ended up having to pay an additional 45 Euros to take an earlier taxi when I had already paid Cosmos for transfer. The ride arranged by Cosmos was cancelled and I should be reimbursed the fee I paid.
Wonderful trip! Sofia, the Tour Director was excellent. She was courteous, funny, witty, well researched, intellectually aware, and left the impression of a native in every area visited. The accommodations were so-so. they were ;mostly away from city center but most had either a mll or large supermarket (bigger than Walmart) around. the only true disappointment was Golden Tulip Warsaw, which was dark, creeping, and scary with old chipped furniture. The 2 drivers were also excellent.
The tour was wonderful. The guide, Simona, was excellent! The tour had just 16 travelers and it was ideal. It would have been an ordeal to have a full bus at some of the stops. Local guides were good and the coach was new with an excellent driver, Salvatore.
We were very happy with our tours in Ireland and Central Europe.
Your service was excellent. Cosmos is not an operator who cares for the standard of accommodation as it is inconcistant
Since this was my first tour I have nothing to compare it with. I feel that I had a good experience.
The Tour Manager's performance was phenomenal. I never seen a tour manager worked as hard as she did. I enjoyed the trip more because of her much concern about everybody especially the group of 48 people.
We loved everything about our tour, from the Tour Director, coach driver, hotel rooms, optional tours, it was all great! We would certainly recommend Cosmos Tours to anyone.
Cosmos has really improved over the last time I traveled with them! The hotels were much better and so were the breakfasts- except for the Leonardo Royal I Frankfurt . Hotel was nice there but the breakfast was sub- par. Our tour guide was exceptional!
this trip was great!
The hotels had NO AC,,,,, After several complaints and misleading comments from tour director & hotel staff we were told that the AC was in "Winter mode" It WAS 80 degrees F at the time. 2 Hotels only had radiator.... NO FANS or AC! After problems in 1st hotel... The tour guide assured us she called ahead and ALL other hotels had the AC on! NONE DID! COSMOS LIED!
It was an excellent experience I have a lot of fun especially at the dinner parties. I was part of an outstanding group of different nationalities. Everybody look after the other and we make friends. No complaints of any kind. I already told many of my friends about your Company. My sister wants to go. She will contact your site when she is ready. Lovely itinerary..beautiful countries.
The only advise I would suggest is to include more tours as at the end you end spending more money with all the additional tours offered that are excluded from the total price we paid. Adding more sightseeing tours to the trip would be a plus as there is so much to see in this trip. The accomodations were good. The whole trip was excellent.
The Central Europe tour was very interesting and enjoyable. Our tour director and driver were both excellent -- gracious, helpful and very knowledgeable. Despite the full disclosure of the itinerary information, the time spent on the bus was longer than I was able to anticipate and disproportionate to the time actually spent visiting the cities on the tour. Also, most of the hotels were much too far from the city centers to allow for any independent activities such as concerts, visits to museums, etc. in the evenings. In the future, I will look for tours with all tips included and more centrally located hotels.
It would have been valuable information to realize how far the distances were. We were on the bus a very long time from one destination to the next. 2500 miles....We thought that all city tours should be included in the price. Krakow was an optional. This was disappointing. All tour directors had heavy accents that made it difficult to understand. Those were the negatives. For the positives...we had a wonderful group and the sites were excellent. Thank you..
Hi, I would like to add a comment about our tour guide and bus driver. I found the tour guide to be superb. She was very knowledgeable throughout the whole tour, adding personal experiences made it very real for us. I was impressed how she genuinely looked after and made sure everyones needs were catered for. Safety and security was an aspect that she made sure we understood. Likewise our driver was competent and personable who assisted us at all times and related well to everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip with Cosmos and would definitely look at travellin with our tour guide again. Thanks
Our tour was much better than we had expected. The guide was very informed and very organized. The driver was very professional and our coach was very confortable with a smooth ride. And our accomodations way exceeded our expectations. And the included tours and meals were very good. We will be doing this type of tour again with this company and will recommend this exact tour to friends and family. This was a good experience and a great value.
One of the best vacations I've been on. The tour guide and driver were both experienced and fun to be around. Would love to do another trip with them again!
