It's worth the trip, the tour is amazing.. the tour guide and the driver was excellent. I will choose our agent on my next adventure.. actually, I gave his name already to my newly friends from previous tour.. highly recommend
Best vacation, totally worth it. We had the best tour guide
Very organized and when adjustments are needed all necessary arrangements are made. Well-educated and courteous tour guide and expert bus driver
Great service
No luggage porters. They are needed even iif price is increase.
Kasia was the best tour guide I've had on any trip!! She made the experience amazing with her stories, jokes and making sure we were always on time and knew where we were hoping. Giovanni was an amazing driver!!! No clue how he manages that traffic and small streets without any issues. Best trip yet!!!! I am hoping to get them both for another trip again.
We visited 7 countries to get a taste of Europe and figure out where to go back and visit. We have mixed feelings about the trip. Mainly, the disappointment comes from the fact that Paris is specifically mentioned in the name of the tour however our time in Paris was extremely limited, a few hours at most, and we did not even get to see the Eiffel tower up close. Here is our review for the Seven Countries, Venice & Paris trip we just completed: We booked this tour through Affordabletours.com because the price was reasonable. We wanted to experience a taste of multiple European countries to see which ones we would like to go back and visit for a longer vacation in the future. This trip pretty much gave us what we wanted and expected. EXCEPT for Paris. Paris should NOT be listed in the title of this vacation package. Time in Paris was so very limited that it was a HUGE disappointment! By the time you reach Paris, on the very last day of your tour, there is no real time to spend seeing any of the sites. Upon arrival, we had about 2 hours of free time to eat lunch, walk to Notre Dame for photos and purchase souvenirs. The walk to Notre Dame took most of that time, so shopping was pretty much just grab something to say you shopped in Paris. They offered a city tour (that also included a farewell dinner), which we signed up for at an extra cost of $67 per person ($134 as a couple), but it was so fast that you barely had time to take any photos of the monuments that were pointed out. Most of the photos had to be taken through the bus window, which was difficult if you were on the opposite side of the coach from the attraction that you wanted to photograph. There were round seat belt warning signs stuck in the middle of the windows, so when you tried to take a photo across the aisle, it was impossible to avoid the sticker in your frame. Plus, the USB ports were in the ceiling of the bus, so you also had other passenger's charging cables in your photos. There were only 2 stops during this city tour, one at the Arc de Triumph, which did allow for some good photos and the other was several blocks from the Eiffel Tower. As you can imagine, the photos were poor and the disappointment was HUGE. My first time in Paris and NO photos AT the Eiffel Tower! Overall this was a great trip for the cost and provided exactly what we wanted, except for feeling shortchanged Paris. I would suggest that they add another day to the tour so that you get to spend a reasonable amount of time in this beautiful city. Especially since Paris is listed in the title of the tour! That felt misleading. If you choose this tour and have the ability to stay an extra day in Paris, I would STRONGLY recommend that you do. We went a day early and spent an extra day in London, which was GREAT, but I wish we had also booked an extra day in Paris. The farewell dinner was wonderful. Saying goodbye to newly made friends, good food and music. I have seen in many of the reviews that past travelers have complained about the amount of time spent on the bus. You do spend time riding, but how else would you be able to experience 7 countries in this short amount of time? Our tour guide, Britt, was GREAT! She was very knowledgeable, funny and charming. The driver of the coach was Hank. He did a great job in getting us across 7 countries safely and handling our luggage in and out of the coach at overnight hotel stops. The only real overnight stop/luggage issue was that some of the hotels did not have porters for the luggage and you had to take your own luggage to the room. As you can imagine, with 50 people, each with 2 bags, all trying to get on an elevator (several times there was only one or at most 2) at the same time to go to their rooms.. well, it got a little chaotic at times. The hotels were mostly good. They were smaller than what we are accustomed to in the US, but that was to be expected. However, there was one room, in Frankfurt Germany, that was pretty ridiculously small. As in your knees touched the bathroom wall when you were on the toilet and you had to open the shower door to lean over to wash your feet or shave your legs! But hey it was only one night! WHAT WE DID ALONG the WAY: We booked a full day city tour of London through Viator, which was wonderful. Next we went to Brussels on the EuroStar, a bullet trainand that was amazing beautiful and ohhhhh the chocolates in Austria, and Switzerland! We made a stop in Boppard Germany and took a river cruise on the Rhine, which was beautiful. We made a stop in Rothenburg Germany. It was a beautiful, picturesque place for shopping and photos. We enjoyed the leisure time there. After spending the night in Frankfurt, we drove through a gorgeous mountain pass to Innsbruck Austria where we visited the Swarovski Crystal Museum. That was great! Next was Venice, which was not a favorite of mine, but we did do a gondola ride what else are you going to do in Venice, right? The gondola ride stated that we would be serenaded, which consisted of a guy in a different boat from us and we had to try to hear from behind. In my opinion, it was very overpriced for what you actually got. Also, it's worth noting that getting in and out of the Gondola is a little challenging. Maybe you should consider skipping this excursion if you are mobility impaired at all in any way. One lady on our tour fell getting out of the gondola and really hurt her knee. It made the rest of the trip difficult and painful for her. At very least, there should have been more assistance provided to her for getting in and out of the vessel. We made a stop in Verona Italy that was really nice! Lots of shopping available, saw a beautiful coliseum and wonderful food! Next was Lucerne Switzerland ABSOLUTELY amazing! Yes, I will return! I highly recommend purchasing the Ascent up Mount Stanserhorn in Switzerland! It was $78, but worth EVERY penny! The views were breathtaking! From Switzerland, there was a lot of time spent in transport on our way to Paris. We stopped in Dijon to spend the night. It was too late for any site seeing, so we took a walk, found a nice little restaurant across the street, had dinner and went back to the hotel. The next morning we drove to Paris, a four hour drive (with a restroom stop along the way) and that is where the big disappointment was. That part of the trip needs to be re-examined to make it better. With the distance between Lucerne and Paris, an additional day is the only solution that I see. If you want to cover a lot of territory in one trip, this package is great! If you do not want to spend vacation time fast paced and moving from place to place every day, you might consider something with less miles to cover. We loved it¦ well, everything except the shortchange in Paris!!!
Tula was great in helping us have the best trip. She was very knowledgeable and efficient. We plan on calling her for our next trip.
The best trip we've had so far! I think I can speak for the group based on our collective reaction - we had a en excellent driver, Massimo, and an excellent tour Director, Budi. Massimo was courteous, accommodating, went the "extra mile" for the group's enjoyment. Our Tour director was fluent in English , Flemish, German, Italian, and French, and gave excellent commentaries and very helpful tips along the way. We had so much fun! Would do it again in a heartbeat...different location, of course! We purchased 3 extra excursions: The Gondola ride in Venice, Mt Stanserhorn in Switzerland, and the Cosmos Farewell dinner and an orientation drive in Paris. I highly recommend those 3 excursions! In the summit of Mt Stanserhorn, there's a restaurant...a must try is the Alpler Magrone (good for 2 but actually good for 4 people), The farewell dinner was not just a 4 course French dinner, it was a PARTY!!!!
I have good experiences with the director and the Driver very great job The Ramada Hotel was not the best place at all
We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation with COSMOS. The coach driver and tour director was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and friendly. I will definitely book another vacation with COSMOS in the future.
Amazing itinerary, great transportation/accomodations and tour guide. Wonderful experience. Everything was well-coordinated and comfortable. Thank you.
Britt, our tour guide, was absolutely fabulous! Antonio, our driver, was great too!
The tour was well planned out and executed overall. I would have wanted more information as to what each destination's itinerary was planned to be (i.e. where we plan to go/see/do). Personally I feel the cities on the itinerary were too far apart, requiring far too much driving daily (probably averaging about 6 hours per day and with rest breaks this reaches probably 7-8 hours in transit daily). I was hoping to have at least a few hours continuously to explore each city rather than having short bouts to walk around small areas that I didn't know anything about. Dijon ended up being just for the overnight stay; however the food options in the area around the hotel were fantastic. All hotels and coach exceeded my expectations and were a pleasant surprise. Overall, if I were to book a trip of this format again, i would definitely research the estimated travel time between destination cities and request more information as to what was planned for each city.
Another thing was that we didn't even go to Austria it was just driving across on freeway and also boat ride to romantic river wasn't done
Staff (Linda) very knowledgeable, helpful, organized everything perfectly. They do all the planning and have clout to get best deals. Great value, great trip. Would book with Affordable Tours & Cosmos again.
Travelers with disability should be warn that the tour is fast paced and tour bus have stairs and most excusions involved walking and some with no wheelchair access.
I had a wonderful experience with Affordable Tours.com. The travel consultant was outstanding. The tour director was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable. She was a great leader. She was respectful and patient. She did her best to make sure everybody was happy. The driver was very careful and punctual. If I ever tour again, I would want to have them both as my tour director and driver.
This was a once in a lifetime experience with my daughter and granddaughters. A wonderful tour and tour and it gave the next-generation the same travel bug!
It was a whirlwind trip/travel covering all seven countries in 10 days. Overall, the experience was great even if it was very tiring to be checking in and out different hotels/countries everyday. My travel companion/friend encountered a problem in a Dijon, France hotel when she started itching with some kind of insect bites during the night. We noted it down on the comment form and informed the travel agency.
The trip itinerary described a trip down the romantic road in Germany. We stayed on the highway and didn't go through the little towns as the description would lead you to believe. We sat in traffic on the highway, so going through the little towns would have been a better choice.
Hotel locations were not to my liking. Several hotels did not provide luggage portage service. Booklets were not sent to us, we had to print travel information at home (25 pages),. Very cumbersome to travel with.
We had a great time with the European seven countries group tour. It was fast paced but so much fun. We saw and took photos of all the beautiful places in each stops.
We really enjoyed the tour. Some of the accommodations were ok. One of the hotels did not provide Wi-Fi.
Overall a good value.
The tour itself was amazing. It offered a variety of activities/ excursions (both included and optional) that are truly memorable and breath taking. And its a very fast paced trip. We had a lot of elderly in our group, and it was not easy for them to walk. I think it would be better if that age group would have a longer (duration maybe 12-15 days ) so that it would have a more appropriate pace for them. I also think that in the description of the tour, the company could include information regarding the importance of a person\'s ability to sustain long walks on uneven surfaces. I think it would be great if the buses are " disabled accessible" ( ADA accessible). I think some of the hotel rooms were smaller than the other hotels I used from my previous cosmos experience. And most importantly, the lifts of some of the hotels were extremely limited.
The trip we got was very affordable and we got to do a lot of things in a very short period of time. I will recommend this company and my travel agent.
My tour guide was so knowledgeable, had good sense of humor, able to guide a large group, and kept us on schedule. My trip to 6 countries was amazing and unforgettable. Made friends and enjoyed myself. I felt safe as a solo traveler and was able to experience the wonders of Europe without feeling so worried, thanks to my tour guide and others in the tour.
The guide and the service was above and beyond what I expected.
Excellent, it exceeded my expectation.
The land tour was enjoyable, but hectic. The tour director didn't even give us time to eat breakfast; we asked to have breakfast early so we can get ready for the bus, but she refused. Although she did a good job, the rush to eat and go on the bus was hectic. We are on vacation and we should be able to relax and take it easy. We know she had a job to do, and she did this well, but for the very short time to eat breakfast made this trip too hectic. We do hope that on our next Cosmos land tour will NOT be with her again.
The accommodations were fine, but the locations were not. Most were in industrial park areas away from city centers. We arrived at the hotels each night between 7-10pm and were unable to enjoy the area. Itineraries were not presented. We did not know from one hour to the next what we were doing. (there was a general itinerary shared each morning) but it was too late to plan free time. We were told at 4pm in Paris, after spending 4 hours there that we had an additional 4 1/2 hours free (as we did not do the optional dinner). We were left on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm with most businesses closed with a paper map to figure out what to do. If I had known the night before, I would have planned out, on the internet, where to go and how to get there, but I was not advised. This was a typical scenario throughout the tour.
The trip I booked met all my expectations and more. This trip was a great value for the price.
Need better beds for shared rooms. Had uncomfortable pull out couch to sleep on. Note I paid the same as all.
The Cosmos staff at the hotel in London was rude.
Really affordable and service is excellent!
This rome to london trip was very good except for the last day of the tour when we have to drive 10 hrs from paris to london just to stay overnight and leave from london to back home. It was a waste of time when we could have stayed in paris and leave from there-when we asked if we could do this initially before the trip, we were told by our agent that we will have to make our own filght arrangements in coming back home since the tour ends in london. There were no excursions offered in london so there was no purpose of going there at all. The hotels, bus driver and tour director were excellent.
The itinerary needs to be more detailed. You should state that Brussels and Innsbruck are just a stopover for the night, not a city we get to visit. Also, in London the Cosmos Reps selling the tours need to know that the Morning tour to see the Changing of the Guards turns out to be "watching the parade" for 3 minutes. Not happy with this.
I really enjoyed the tour, the representative who assisted me booking this tour was really efficient, and really helpful, I would definitely book my next trip with Affordable Tours and refer all my family and friends. My tour director was great as well!
This trip was hectic but we would certainly recommend it to someone with realistic expectations about traveling through Europe 7 countries within 10 days. It was an enjoyable experience for a quick overview of a lot of countries within a short period of time..
My travel experience was excellent. I will definitely book my next trip with Cosmos. Thanks a lot.
Hotels need to be closer to the towns for easy transport to and from on our own. Overall I would give the trip a 3 star. We had a a superb tour guide.
Upon making my decision to book this particular travel package, I accepted that there would be "moderate" walking (exercise) involved during the trip (as outlined in the description). I was not truly happy with the amount of "moderate" exercise involved -- always on uneven pathways and inclines. The tour director was a great fellow and very friendly and knowledgeable, but his perception of "5 to 7 minute walks" was somewhat off -- more like 10 to 20 minute walks each way -- and always at a fast pace. That's pretty hard on people that are short and have short legs! One walk, in particular (a 15-minute walk, both to and from) seemed unwarranted as it was designed specifically for viewing one attraction -- a bronze statue of the legendary and fictional character of Juliette as penned by Shakespeare. The walk to this statue was very brisk and passed many historical landmarks and locations along the way. Too bad that the walking schedule did not allow time for photo opportunities for anything but the statute in question. In my opinion, the historical buildings and landmarks passed by in a blur were of much more interest and much more importance than a five-minute photo opportunity with a statue of a fictional character. All of the accommodations were what I expected since the trip I booked was just a standard tour -- no bells or whistles. The rooms were clean but extremely small. My only complaint was that one hotel, the Bon Alpina in Innsbruck, Austria, did not have air conditioning. The windows could be opened, but there were no screens on them, allowing bugs in (which I found out to my dismay!) It was so hot during the night, that I and the person traveling with me could not sleep. Also, the staff was not customer friendly -- not rude, but not very accommodating. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Basically, this tour package needs to be more descriptive in their brochures about ALL of the features of the trip -- accommodations and excursions, including the optional-purchase excursions.
Would have preferred that a guided tour in London was included in the package. Only optional tours were offered. Dinners for three consecutive nights in different countries were all the same. Tomato soup and chicken.
The trip ran smoothly and covered a lot in the 10 days. I had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed our trip! Our tour guide was outstanding, she kept us informed of the history of the area as well as what to expect during times we were on our own. The most difficult part for us was the suitcase limitation, and re-packing each night. A few of the hotel stays were very much on the outskirts of the town/city rather than in the center of things making it difficult for any other activities.
Very good experience. Enjoyed my trip immensely. Bravo!
Everything was perfect. Thank you
I had a terrible experience in Dijon/France. I find that the people where extremely rude & disrespectful especially at the hotel where we stayed. I will not be returning there at all nor would I recommend it to my friends and family.
The Tour Director was extremely knowledgeable and identified key sites along the way. He kept everyone on track and maintained a balanced schedule. Accommodations: most of the hotels accommodations were very comfortable and matched the value except for the following: Holiday Inn Venice - hotel room not very clean, the water drained very slowly and breakfast was disappointing and delayed. Hotels in France were a bit smaller than I expected.
My Travel Consultant, had a wonderful job in helping processing my tour plan, she replied my email, calls quickly, and provided all essential information/answers about my concerns asap. Now my European tour ended, but in near future I'd like to contact her for planing my next tour to Alaska, or Hawaii. Thank you Affordable tour. Shuchun Liang
I and my chlidren enjoyed our trip to Europe
Everything went very, very smoothly. For the most part, the accommodations exceeded our expectations for a tour this reasonably priced.
I am happy with the turnout of our trip. Our tour director was outstanding and very knowledgeable. Couldn\'t ask for a better tour guide! The trip was fabulous, but lots of time spent on road travel than the sights.
My wife and I had a great Anniversary Vacation one that will remain with us forever..
Hotels were to far from the towns. We could not walk to several towns. Hotel rooms to small. Staff at Brussels hotel were rude, same is to be true at the Holiday Inn, Italy, and Kyriad Gare hotel in Dijon, France.
Great trips. Our driver is very good and safe. Our tour director is so funny and knowledges all the countries we been through, make our trips wonderful. We wish to have them next trips. Thanks
Most of the rooms were quite nice, however they were also quite small. Difficult to move around in room with suitcases open. Not all had a place to put your suitcase on. The hotel in Zurich was too far out of the city as was the hotel in Frankfurt. In Zurich, a train passed by all night at frequent intervals, which was quite noisy. These opinions were also reflected in the Cosmos survey. I realize that the weather cannot be helped, but when an excursion is booked that is completely dependent on the weather, it seems that there should be an ability to opt out & receive a refund or at least a partial refund. The high-light of the tour was to be the Mount Stanserhorn excursion. (Have done it before & it is breath-taking). However, it was rainy & foggy & we were unable to see anything, so it turned out to be the worst experience. (Also mentioned in Cosmos survey)
This was our first trip with Affordable Tours, specifically with Cosmos, and it exceeded out expectations. We have traveled internationally several times prior to this trip, and we found that our Tour Director was by far the most knowledgeable guide we have ever had. Her knowledge of Ireland, its history, economy, politics, geography was incredible and only added to the enjoyment of the trip. She was personable yet professional at all times, and had infinite patience with fellow travelers who were late getting to the bus for departures. If we travel internationally again, it certainly would be with Cosmos. The value received for the price paid was great. The hotels weren't five star, but we traveled to see/experience the country, not the hotels. The excursions were varied, although a couple of them were a bit pricey. Overall, the trip was marvelous!
What a fantastic experience in general. We throughly enjoyed our trip.
Once on the tour our driver and our tour director were just awesome! We travelled with our 80 year old Mother and they were so considerate of her. It was the experience of a lifetime! Thanks to everyone involved!
We had great experience in booking the tour and had no surprises.
My sister, daughter and I enjoyed ourselves very much. We only wish we could have stayed longer on tour.
In general, the vacation was excellent. I would use Affordabletours.com again and the operators to book another vacation. Thank you.
This trip exceeded my expectations, my group became my wonderful, magnificent family for several days. My tour director for Cosmos along with the Driver were absolutely the icing on the cake, my daughter who is 10 wanted to acquire gifts for both of them the evening prior to our departure however, the gift shop at the hotel was closed much to her dismay. I had taken a tour with Cosmos several years back and unfortunately had been assaulted on said trip. I now have regained confidence in this company that made a dream come true for my daughter and I, we really can't wait to get back on a plane and explore Europe. We can only pray that we encounter them once again!!!!!
