DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in Warsaw
Arrive in Warsaw, Poland's capital city, and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by a light dinner. We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 4 PM

DAY 3, Monday - Warsaw City Tour
Begin the day with a tour of Warsaw, including both banks of the Vistula River. Visit Lazienki Park to view Chopin's Monument, then travel along the Royal Route with its historic monuments and residences toward the Warsaw Ghetto. Walk through the cobbled streets to the Market Square. View the Cathedral of St. John and the Royal Castle. Spend the balance of the day at leisure or, join the optional tour to Wilanow Palace.* It was built at the end of the 17th century for King Jan III Sobieski*Advance purchase is highly recommended for this tour. Tickets are limited and may not be available for purchase locally.

DAY 4, Tuesday - Jasna Gora Monastery
Travel south to Czestochowa to see the Paulite Monastery at Jasna Gora*, home of the Black Madonna, a portrait of Our Lady that is said to have miraculous powers. Drive to Krakow, former residence of the Polish kings. Remainder of the day is at leisure or, join the optional Wieliczka Salt Mine tour. The mine's historical importance, as well as the works of art carved into the walls by miners, have earned the Wieliczka Salt Mine a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list*On Aug 15, the shrine will be very crowded and viewing of the Black Madonna painting will be from afar.

DAY 5, Wednesday - Krakow City Tour, Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour
This morning, take a tour of medieval Krakow, including a visit to the 16th century Wawel Royal Castle District. Proceed to the Jewish Quarter and visit the Ghetto Heroes Square to view the Jewish Ghetto Memorial, called "The Lonely Chairs." Continue to the Old Town and Market Square to view St. Mary's Church and the Renaissance Cloth Hall. In the afternoon tour Auschwitz-Birkenau, the infamous network of concentration camps from World War II a UNESCO World Heritage Site

DAY 6, Thursday - Scenic Drive to Budapest
This morning, travel to the village of Orawka to view St. John the Baptist Church, in the Upper Orava region in Poland. Continue through the scenic Tatra Mountains and the wooded countryside of Slovakia before reaching the Danube Valley and Hungary's capital city of Budapest with its world-renowned classical music scene. The remainder of the day is at leisure

DAY 7, Friday - Budapest City Tour
The morning tour begins in Pest with a chance to view the Parliament, the Royal Palace, and Heroes' Square. Cross the Danube River on the Elizabeth Bridge into the Buda Hills. Visit Castle Hill to see the 13th century Matthias Coronation Church. From Fisherman's Bastion, admire a panoramic view of the city. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or join the optional Budapest Opera House & Great Dohany Synagogue. Begin with a guided tour of the Budapest Opera House, a 19th century neo-Renaissance building. View the grand staircase along with the magnificent red and gold hall. Later, visit the Great Dohany Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe. Spend the morning at leisure in Budapest or join the optional tour to Parliament, St. Stephen's Basilica, and Great Market Hall*. Later, depart Hungary and travel through the Austrian countryside to Vienna, the former center of the Habsburg Empire. Spend the balance of the day at leisure in Vienna. DAY 9, Sunday - Vienna City Tour
Today, take a sightseeing tour that begins with a visit to Schonbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg emperors. Continue with a drive along the famous Ringstrasse and view the Empress Maria Theresia Monument, Votive Church, City Hall, and Parliament. Next, walk through the Hofburg courtyards to the State Opera House. The rest of the day is at leisure, or join the optional The Glory of the Habsburg Emperors. DAY 10, Monday - Bratislava Excursion
This morning, take a half-day excursion across the border to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The beautifully restored old town with its winding lanes and medieval courtyards is nestled between the steep Castle Hill and the Danube River. First, explore the historic center on a guided walking tour. After, take time to stroll the lively pedestrian streets of this city, where local street vendors offer regional gifts, before returning to Vienna. Tonight, join the optional Austrian Country Dinner. A local musician will entertain with traditional melodies, while hearty Austrian dishes are served

DAY 12, Wednesday - Prague City Tour
This morning's sightseeing will include a walking tour of the Lesser Town and the Old Town, viewing the 14th century Charles Bridge, with its 30 Baroque statues of various saints. From here, admire the views up to the Prague Castle. Continue through the Old Town Square to view the Town Hall, Astronomical Clock, Municipal House, Powder Tower, and the Jewish Quarter. The rest of the day is at leisure, or join the optional afternoon tour to the hilltop Prague Castle complex, former residence of Bohemian kings and to the St. Vitus Cathedral, where kings were crowned and battles were fought. Today cross Saxony to the Baroque art city of Dresden, also known as "the Florence on the Elbe River". Stop at the ornate Zwinger Palace, once a setting for court festivities, and the Semper Opera House. Continue to the Frauenkirche Church, symbol of reconstruction with its Baroque dome. Afterwards, travel to Berlin, capital of reunited Germany. Balance of the day is at leisure

DAY 14, Friday - Berlin City Tour
Take a guided tour of Berlin. View the landmarks of the old East and West sections of Berlin, including the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the reunification, the glass dome Reichstag Building and "Checkpoint Charlie," the last remaining mark of the formerly divided city. Drive along Unter den Linden Boulevard past the State Opera House and the cathedral. End the day in the shopping and entertainment district of Kurfürstendamm.
