Tour Itinerary
On our Spain, Portugal, and Morocco tour, experience the rich history and distinct cultures of these three glorious countries. You'll overnight in Madrid, Seville, Granada, and the Costa del Sol in Spain; Coimbra and Lisbon in Portugal; and Rabat, Marrakesh, and Fez in Morocco. The tour starts in Madrid, where you’ll discover the main sights with a local guide. On the way to Portugal, visit Avila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its ancient, fortified towers and walls, and beautiful Salamanca. The Portuguese pearls you’ll discover on this affordable tour are Coimbra, Obidos, Fatima with its famous Sanctuary, and the capital, Lisbon. Cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco on the African continent by ferry to step back in time in Rabat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco's capital. Fez is still the cultural and spiritual hub, and its centerpiece is the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its exotic palaces, madrasas, fondouks, residences, mosques, and fountains date back to the 13th-14th centuries. The red city of Marrakesh remains a tapestry of ramparts, mosques, palaces, gardens, vibrant public squares, and souks (markets). You’ll get to know this fascinating city with a local expert on the included sightseeing tour. Stop in Casablanca, Morocco's westernmost city. Its name still resonates because of the 1942 classic film with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Once back on the European continent, you will love the included guided visit to Granada's legendary Alhambra complex*, a lavish palace and fortress built by Moorish kings in 889 AD, and you will appreciate it even more after having visited Morocco. These are just some of the many highlights on this comprehensive and affordable Spain, Portugal, and Morocco tour. It's a memorable budget vacation for value-minded travel lovers.

And our motorcoaches are equipped with air filters that clean the air as well as provide constant ventilation.
PARTNERS IN DISCOVERY AND IN HEALTHCosmos has strict health and safety protocols, which have been in place for years, focused on ensuring all aspects of operation- from vehicles and equipment used on trip to excursions and hotel procedures. Trip of a lifetime! Cosmos provides excellent service from the moment they pick you up at the airport until they drop you off when the tour is over. Their guides are professional, knowledgeable and extremely personable. I have booked cosmos tours four times and never been disappointed.
This was a great tour. Cosmos always provides great customer service. I was only disappointed by the equipment (whispers did not work) which negatively impacted my tour experience. Tour Director- Julian, the tour director did an excellent job. He made sure that all the passengers had a pleasant time, and that we were safe and comfortable all of the time. Julian is very knowledgeable and demonstrated vast experience in the Spain, Morocco, and Portugal tours. Most importantly, he was kind, compassionate, motivated, well informed, organized, efficient, and humble. Hotels - The following hotels for the first part of the tour were ok. There was some cleanliness issues. The wifi connection was poor. 1- Praga 2- Hotel D. Luis 3- Roma 4- Don Paco 5- Mercure Sheherazade Rabat 6- Zalagh Kasbah Hotel & Spa The following hotels for the last part of the tour were excellent. 7- Menzeh Zalagh 8- Hotel Ilunion Mijas 9- Gran Hotel Luna de Granada 10- NH Ventas
I had a wonderful experience with Cosmos on my tour. Our guide was organized, detailed, and always concerned about our happiness. He was wonderful. The bus was lovely, the people wonderful, and most of the accommodations were quality. Sometimes breakfast was a bit stressful since there were multiple tours in the building at the same time, and we had to wait in long lines or fight though big groups of people to get breakfast. But all of the included dinners were lovely, as were the additional excursions and all of the included sites. It was an overall wonderful experience.
EXCELLENT!!
Julian was an able knowledgeable guide. He was in Control and look after his " Family" Some local guides were just going through the motions Some of the Hotels were suboptimal but we were warned by Julian. Madrid Introduction was fair but our first dinner could have been impressive and in NH -Vente Hotel. The Toledo excursion left little free time to explore Madrid Water is a basic neccesity and we on occasion had to walk in the heat to the local supermarket to avoid paying higher prices Comfort stops were a great concept but perhaps we could choose better venuesasidecv Morroco having Free time I believe about 2 hrs in the oppressive heat was ill advised. We had ample warning about the vendors mindset as being abrasive Walking through the Medina maze avoiding donkey landmines and pickpockets was an adventure that could have been shortened Finally rotating to the last seat of the bus on a long distance drive was pure torture an experience I do not care to repeat That being said overall aside from developing heat fatigue and developing cough curtesy of a fellow traveller, the overall trip was educational Julian was great, my fellow travellers were seasoned and I would go back to Spain and Portugal
I had an amazing time on my January 2019 tour of Spain Portugal Morocco = under Tour Director, Julian. I am a solo female traveler and i had met other wonderful solo female travelers on this tour -to share my memories and experience with! It made my trip more memorable meeting these incredible ladies from different walks of life from different countries. I did opt to pay the single supplement, because I like my own privacy - and plus it is great to wind-down after touring all day with your tour-mates. The tour was amazing! It was very organized. Stayed a great hotels for the 3 star to 4 stars accommodations, food, the excursions were awesome - and the Tour Director, Julian did an incredible job - that he made it fantastic - that i will do another Cosmos tour again and recommend my friends, family, co-workers the same tour.
good trip, excellence tour director and driver.
Cosmos had the most professional yet personable tour director, Enrique. He explained things so that it was easy to understand. He went out of his way to treat us special (buying little snacks for us at different times) and he was always there for us if we wanted to explore on our own. Our bus driver Alfonso was so good at weaving in tight spots and was always there to help us off of the bus.
Some of the hotel rooms are old and a condition is not good
This was our first trip with Cosmos. We were pleased with our trip and it met the expectations as mentioned in the Cosmos itinerary booklet. The trip was very organized, and management of the group ( 42 in all ) was handled very efficently by the tour director, John during the whole trip.
The tour was well-organized by the Tour Director. The accommodations in some cases were not up to our expectations. We were provided with twin bed in most of the hotels instead of the queen bed we had requested.
Wonderful tour. Our tour leader was very gifted in all ways. He could answer questions, manage unforeseen events, schedules, and get us all where we were supposed to be with such seemingly lack of effort. The tour was fast paced and a bit athletic, but all was worth the effort.
This Spain, Portugal, Morocco tour is a terrific value. Our tour guide is an impressive historian, complete professional, and beautifully organized. He and the driver made our tour a brilliant journey.
Accomodations were very budget and below average. There were AC's and lifts not working, no tea kettle in the room, beds were not cozy and comfortable, etc. This tour only covered stay and transportation package. There was no sightseeing. You would have to buy basic city tour excursions also. Everywhere you have to give tips and no standardisation at all. This tour must be redesigned. I will be looking for other tour companies in future.
Too many guides in the trip. In some places we have tour director, guide for the country, local guide for city and the driver. If we follow guidelines provided, we have to give too many gratuities.
Very good service and Guide with excellent coach.
very nice service from guide and coach driver
Just one motel.( I think it was the second last one ) ..beds too hard, no air conditioning, and the noise! (Below our window on the street)...all the people on the bus complained about this motel. ,
The trip was good but I wished that the drop off of passengers to the location of the visits were closer to the area. We have to walked in some places few blocks and the worst part was taking the ferry to Morocco. I know that we have to dragged our suit cases to the terminal and boat but the experience could have been easier if we were dropped off and picked up to the curve of the terminal-- just a little courtesy to the passengers. My suit case one wheel was broken in Seville when it was delivered in the room and to drag that suit case to the ferry was a night mare to me. I have been travelling and this is the worst service as far as luggage accommodation is concerned and I thought that the kind of service is tucked in to the price paid.
PLASE TELL FUTURE TRAVELERS: We were told to use the safe in our hotel rooms rather than taking our passports and all of our money out with us on the streets. In Madrid at the NH Abascol, two of our tour members did so and were robbed. Somehow someone entered their room, dumped the contents our of their suitcases, removed the safe and PUT IT INTO THE SUITCASES, and then exited with the suitcase. Those safes are not "safe." Please be advised to tell all future travelers, not to use the safe because we also learned that if the safe is lock with the travelers personal 4 digit pin and forgotten, then even the maid can open the safe!! Of course, this incident was not the fault of the tour director who was great and even was seen trying to help the couple who lost their valuables after he had gone off duty as our "official" tour director.
There should be a provision where water should be included in Moroccan meals!
Overall, the tour was great -- the Tour Director was superior to other tour directors I've experienced. However, the Morocco portion of the trip should be with another tour.....driving/sitting on the bus for hours on end was too much----especially for the older travelers.
Best Cosmos tour I've ever taken! Best Tour Director I've ever had and best optional tours.
Oor tour guide was excellent!
Our tour director was excellent, very knowledgeable, helpful, patient and agreeable. He helped make the tour great!
The entire vacation experience was excellent for the price paid. From the staff in the Houston office, to the tour director, to the coach driver, all were very professional. The director of our tour did an amazing job, keeping us on schedule and keeping the tour exciting for all.
I was disappointed in the tour. When we arrived in Madrid, the hotel was loud and had paper thin walls, you could hear the people in the next room cough and talk. The food was not good and we went to the grocery across the street the second day because we we hungry. The tour director and driver were excellent and always tried to help. Some of the accommodations were better. The tour part of Morocco was a disappointment. They took us to Casablanca and dropped us off and told us to eat lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken or Mcdonalds, and both were so dirty the restrooms were unusable. That was my romantic trip to Casablanca! We were taken to mosque after mosque and not really able to enjoy the cities and the flavor of the country.
Everything about the trip was wonderful. The amazing kudos go to the bus driver and the tour director.
The tour was lovely. The tour guide was great. The only comment I would like to make was the hotel in Rabat. This was the worse hotel we stayed at and the entire group agreed with this comment. Perhaps in the future, you can let Cosmos know that a different hotel would be greatly appreciated by their travelers. It was dirty and dark.
The hotels were sub par except in Marrakech and Fez where they were excellent. The vegetarian meals that we had requested were tasteless at all places. The bus did not have seat pockets or drink holders or any other facility except for good seats. Many of the hotels selected did not have wifi in the room or it was not free as in Madrid.
The vegetarian meals that were provided were not tasty. It was just boiled vegetables they gave us at many places. That was horrible. Some of the hotels selected were not good...
I liked the mix of people...at least 7 countries represented. Made for interesting conversations. Quite the strenuous trip...lots of walking each day. Hard to understand the tour guides and their accents especially at the back of the bus.
Everything was on time, clean and very informative. Food and service great. All the tour guides and the Director, went beyond their services.Even our bus driver was super. The whole experiance for a first time travel was AWESOME will do it again.
I had a great experience with Affordable Tours and Cosmo Tours and I would definitely consider using them again in the future!
Do want to say that our tour guide was fabulous!!!!! I can't say enough positive things about him. Some of the hotels were a bit shabby but those were only for one night. All in all a great tour!
Cosmos was very well organized, great tour leader and I got alot of vacation for the money I spent. I just got home today and will be looking at affordable tours again to book my next trip.
Hotel in Fez -Elevator broke down Hotel in Coimbra -Could not adjust temperature and water was brown in color when you first turned water on. Hotel in Rabat-Smelt moldy Ferry from Tangier to Algeciras-Elevator did not work and could not find the tour director and about 20 of us had to drag the luggage to the fourth floor. We found out later from another group that there was a ramp to drag the luggage up. In Coimbra the tour director told us to walk up on the steps for about 15 minutes one way to see the University library and it was closed when we got there. Of course he did not walk with us.
This tour met & exceeded much of my expectations. Good value for cost. Tour Director- Vitor was fun, informed and great. Food amazing!! Thank-you
This was my first trip and I enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide director was very nice, well organized. I will definitely book my next vacation trip with you. Thank you.
We came back safely and had a wonderful experience. I had minor things to think about, but after all everything was all right. Thanks.
My first such bus tour was better than I had anticipated. Certain hotels were particularly good and breakfasts were better than what I had expected (more American than continental). One of the few criticisms (which I also made in Cosmos' survey) is that the bus seemed to drive at only 100 km/h (even in 120 zones) and comfort stops were too long, leaving less time for sightseeing.
We were very happy and satifiied with the tour arrangements and the capability of the tour Director. It was indeed well worth the money we paid. We would suggest that the optional tours be also included with the payments in the US. Paying in cash currencies in either dollars or euros did pose a problem since most hotels do not accept or cash American Express travellers checks in Spain, Portugal or Morocco.
We enjoyed the Cosmos tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco very much! Tour director was great and made our trip even better.
I had a wonderful time. My first land excursion was a success! I will travel again with your company. Many thanks for a wonderful trip!

When I considered this tour, I realized that there would be a lot of time on the bus. However, to visit three countries in 16 days required this amount of travel. I felt entirely safe on the bus, and while walking alone during the free time. The only feature that seemed too long was the visit to the scent factory. I wish that we had visited the museum of St. Yves Laurent. He seemed like a very interesting person. I especially appreciated the visit to the family in the Oureka Valley in Morocco. Overall, the tour guide and the city guides were knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about 3 European countries. All hotels were excellent,
