Minimum Age Policy on Costa Cruises

Infants must be at least six (6) months old at the time of embarkation to be eligible to sail. For transatlantic cruises, World Cruises, cruises lasting 15 days or more, or any other itinerary deemed by Costa Cruises to present potential risks to infants requiring emergency medical care, infants must be at least 12 months old at the time of embarkation.

Guests under 21 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On select departures, guests aged 21-24 must have someone at least 25 years old in the same cabin, who will be responsible for the underage guests. Those supervising minors must ensure they do not purchase, possess, or consume alcoholic beverages, or violate any other shipboard regulations.

The minimum drinking age onboard is 21 for cruises departing from U.S. ports and 18 for cruises departing from non-U.S. ports. Guests under 18 years old are not allowed to participate in casino activities or use spa facilities, and must be accompanied by someone over 18 on shore excursions. The guest's age on the day of sailing determines their status for the entire duration of the cruise.

Travel Protection Options on Costa Cruises

Carefree Travel Protection helps safeguard your cruise vacation investment in case you need to cancel or interrupt your trip for unexpected, covered reasons. This protection offers reimbursement for trip and baggage delays, as well as medical expenses if you fall ill or have an accident while traveling. This is particularly valuable for international travel, as Medicare and many private insurance policies may not provide coverage outside North America.

While we hope your cruise is smooth sailing, we strongly recommend purchasing Carefree Travel Protection for peace of mind.

  • Trip Cancellation/Interruption: This covers cancellation or interruption of your cruise due to illness, injury, or death to you, an immediate family member, or a traveling companion. You may receive reimbursement up to the total cost of your trip (maximum of $50,000 per guest).

  • Trip Delay: If a carrier delay or other specified reasons cause you to miss your cruise departure, you'll be reimbursed up to $1,000 for additional accommodations, meals, and transportation to catch up with your trip.

  • Baggage Protection: If your baggage or personal property is lost or damaged, you can be reimbursed up to $1,500. If your baggage is delayed or misdirected for over 24 hours, you may receive up to $500 for essential personal items.

  • Medical Expense Coverage: If you get sick or injured during your trip, you may be reimbursed up to $10,000 for medical expenses related to illness or injury.

  • Emergency Evacuation: In case of serious illness or injury requiring transportation to a medical facility or home, you could be provided with up to $30,000 in coverage for emergency evacuation services (coordinated by our 24-hour assistance provider) to ensure your safe transport.

This plan offers cancellation coverage for your trip and insurance that applies only during the covered trip. You may already have similar coverage through other sources, but it may have different restrictions. It’s a good idea to compare this policy with your existing life, health, home, and automobile insurance. For any questions about your current coverage, contact your insurer, agent, or broker.

I'm very happy with the services provided by Affordable Tours and will recommend this tour operator to my family and friends.

Maria

It was so easy to book our cruise with Mandy of Affordable Tours. She was very patient and knowledgeable in answering our questions and concerns. Even though we booked our cruise several months ahead of time, she kept in touch with reminders when the departure date of the trip approached. Our cruise turned out as she had promised, with no problems whatsoever. Really loved our trip to the Baltics!

WM
William

We booked this trip mainly because it included a stop at the Greek island of Mykos which was cancelled because the operator said that the weather was not good and it would not be safe to go there. This is fine but there should have been some compensation as this was the best part of the trip.. The operator saved a great deal of fuel as they did not have to travel as far....WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPENSATED AND FOR THAT REASON WOULD NOT RECOMMEND COSTA CRUISE LINE.

KS
Kenny

The variety in their menu is limited. Have been on few cruises with Carnival and their selection of food is much better. Had a problem with the WiFi service on board the ship. Paid 32 Euros for a connection, but was unable to use the service. It appeared that most of my data allowance was used up when I switched on my laptop. I was told that the problem was probably due to my system set to automatically update itself.
