World Cruise Cruise Packages

Quick Facts

There is really no best time to take a world cruise, but those who are choosing to go on one choose specific months to do so. Usually, these run throughout the entire year, so you will want to think about the ports of call you are going to stop in and the temperature that it is going to be when you stop. The traditional world cruise start date is in January, but there are usually many others. Grand voyages might not cover all of the world, but they do go into some of the biggest areas and ports. Australia has cruises that take you around the world starting in May.

  • Getting There

Setting out on a world cruise requires reaching the port of departure, and this isn't a one-size-fits-all scenario. These cruises often set sail from major coastal cities around the globe, such as Miami, Sydney, London, or Singapore, acting as gateways to your ocean-going adventure.

But how do you arrive at these starting points? Most travelers opt for a flight to the international airports nearby, with others sometimes preferring a scenic train ride or a quick road trip if they're regional. From the airport, station, or parking lot, it's typically a short hop to the cruise terminal via organized shuttles, taxis, or public transport.

Remember, your cruise ticket might even bundle a transport deal. The key is in the planning: ensure your itinerary syncs with the cruise departure to set sail seamlessly into your comprehensive world exploration!

  • The Perfect Time for a World Cruise

Embarking on a world cruise is an adventure that takes you through an array of climates and cultures, and choosing the right time to set sail is crucial for making the most of this extraordinary journey. Since the weather varies as much as the destinations on a world cruise, timing your departure is key to enjoying favorable conditions throughout your voyage.

Most world cruises begin in January or early February, a strategic choice that allows cruisers to chase the best weather as they travel across the globe. Setting off early in the year is ideal for cruising through regions like Southeast Asia and Australia, where you can enjoy cooler, drier weather before the intense heat of late summer sets in. As your cruise progresses into the Mediterranean and Europe in the spring and summer, you'll be welcomed by blossoming landscapes and sun-drenched landmarks, all while avoiding the peak tourist crowds of the high season.

Cruising into the fall season often brings the voyage to destinations like the Middle East or Africa. During these months, cruisers can enjoy milder temperatures and more authentic experiences, as the number of tourists typically dwindles. Cruising in these off-peak periods means fewer tourists, allowing cruisers more time to immerse themselves in the local culture, engage in conversations with residents, and enjoy uninterrupted views of the world's wonders.

A world cruise offers an unparalleled opportunity to see a variety of destinations in one trip, and selecting the right time to embark on this journey can greatly enhance your experience. With careful planning, cruisers can enjoy the diversity of the world's climates and cultures in the most comfortable and enriching way possible.

  • Why Book a Cruise Around the World?

A world cruise is possibly the most stress-free and enchanting way to discover the planet. Imagine unpacking just once and then settling into a comfortable cabin that transports you to far-off destinations while you sleep, dine, and relax. It's the epitome of convenience mixed with exploration. Cruises offer exceptional value for money, encompassing accommodation, world-class cuisine, and entertainment alongside the travel itself in one package deal.

But there's more than just practicality and economics at play here. A cruise provides exclusive coastal views that you can't capture from any hotel room, transforming the journey itself into an experience just as unforgettable as the destinations. For those who cherish the ocean, there's nothing quite like watching a sunset on the open sea or gazing at a horizon that stretches unbroken in every direction.

Moreover, world cruises often include exclusive excursions that might not be available to the average traveler. From private tours in cultural landmarks, often after hours, to special access to restricted natural wonders, these cruises offer a sense of exclusivity and immersion. Additionally, the opportunity to meet and bond with fellow travelers from around the globe, sharing the journey of a lifetime, creates a community feel that's unique to this style of travel. In essence, a world cruise represents more than a holiday; it's a multicultural adventure unlike any other.

  • Experience the Flavors of the World on a Cruise

Oh, the flavors you'll discover on a world cruise! It's not just a journey across oceans but a culinary odyssey offering a taste of the world's vast food landscape. Each destination brings its signature dishes to the table, creating a unique mixture of tastes, ingredients, and traditions.

On board, expect a gourmet experience, often with dishes inspired by the regions you're sailing through. Many cruises employ world-renowned chefs to curate menus that reflect the essence of each destination. Imagine savoring paella inspired by the coasts of Spain, digging into fresh sushi as you approach Japan, or delighting in heartwarming pasta dishes as you near Italy's shores.

But the real culinary adventure begins onshore: sample authentic street food during a market tour in Bangkok, or perhaps enjoy a wine-tasting session in a vineyard in France. And don't miss out on a traditional barbecue experience ('asado') when you dock in Argentina, renowned globally for its meat. Wherever your world cruise takes you, there's an assortment of gastronomic delights waiting. They're not just meals; they're edible souvenirs that will linger on your palate long after the journey ends. So, bring your appetite and set sail on a global feast!

  • Immerse Yourself in Cruising Culture

A world cruise is like a floating festival of cultures, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the diverse customs, celebrations, and traditions of the globe without ever leaving the ship. It's a microcosm of the world, where each day offers something new, mirroring the rich cultural landscapes of the upcoming ports.

As you voyage across different waters, cruise lines go above and beyond to bring the world's heritage onboard. You might start your day with a Tai Chi lesson inspired by the tranquil mornings in China, followed by a vibrant Brazilian carnival-style party on deck in the evening. Art auctions, region-specific cooking classes, and language workshops add layers to your cultural immersion.

Special dates get their own celebrations, too. Imagine ringing in the Lunar New Year with a grand feast and traditional dragon dances or enjoying a warm 'Oktoberfest' gathering, complete with authentic German brews and music. Cultural guest speakers, artists, and performers often join the journey, enriching your experience with their knowledge and talent.
