Health and Safety Protocols
Viking requires that all guests be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior to travel. For added protection, we strongly recommend that guests who are eligible for a booster receive one before departing. All crew are required to be up-to-date with their immunization. This policy is aligned with current guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). You may be required to show proof of vaccination for embarkation on a Viking ship. Please note, some countries along your journey may require a booster dose. On select itineraries where required by local authorities, you will submit verification of COVID-19 vaccination status through VeriFLY, an independent third-party mobile app.
Enjoy fresh air in your stateroom, knowing that all staterooms on Viking ocean ships feature independent air handling units that do not share air with other areas of the ship. Take comfort in knowing that the air in the public areas of your ship has also been purified with new short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) lights and high-density filters, which kill 99.99% of all airborne viruses and bacteria.
While every precaution can reduce the risk of illness, we are also prepared for that outcome. Each of our ocean and expedition vessels has always had a state-of-the-art Medical Center; those facilities have now been upgraded with more specialized equipment. We have also launched a new 24/7 hotline staffed by doctors.
Rest assured that the surfaces on your ship will be cleaned and sanitized continuously with daily scheduled deep cleanings. You will notice more hand sanitization stations throughout your ship. And on our ocean ships, we are using new sanitization robots that utilize UV-C light to treat surfaces in guest and crew public areas—an industry first.
Dining & Entertainment
On your ship, you can expect spacious, airy public areas and abundant options for al fresco dining. Also, on our ocean voyages, as always, you can enjoy complimentary 24-hour room service. Now, more options for spaced seating in all dining venues will allow for physical distancing; there will be additional table service at all bars and lounges; and new capabilities will allow you to watch more live events and enriching content through your in-room entertainment system.
Physical Distancing & Face Masks
Public health experts agree that proper physical distancing and the use of face masks are effective in helping slow the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. Face masks are optional while moving about the ship. Please note: Viking’s Medical Team continually monitors conditions and may deem face masks to be necessary while moving about the ship, based on conditions at the time of travel. While ashore, guests will need to comply with any local guidelines for face masks and physical distancing. Face masks continue to be required for all crew.

Viking is the top of the line for older travelers. The staff was very accommodating. The ship was pristine, Someone was cleaning from 5:00 am until the last guests retired. On board programs were geared to the interest of the age group of the guests. Very pleased.
I felt that we were somewhat mislead when Rome was offered as our first stop--we NEVER got to see any of Rome. I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to see at least some of the major sites, and we saw NONE. Our ship was docked in an area where you were not allowed to walk around. Viking could have offered us at least a motor coach tour of Rome where we could say that we at least saw some of the sites in Rome. After all, the ship was there at least 12 or more hours (perhaps even overnight), and time was not a factor.
Outstanding staff - friendly, helpful and could not do enough to make sure that the trip was memorable. Relaxing and a great experience. Food was excellent - highly recommend Viking - this will not be our last trip with them

Viking Ocean cruise was top-notch. We have booked our next cruise with them.
This was my first Viking Ocean Cruise and we were on the Viking Sky. The ship was gorgeous and the staff was wonderful - just as I would have expected from Viking. There were many special added touches that I have not received from other cruise lines and they truly make their guests feel welcome and appreciated.
Had some issues with Viking on this trip.
It was my first time on Viking Ocean and I would recommend it to other as well as the great service Kia has provided.
The overall trip was enjoyable and worth the price. One thing to be aware of is that the time spent in various ports may be limited so as to meet sailing requirements. The approximate time in ports should be disclosed because some were as short as about 6 hours.
Viking staff are excellent . They offer the best service in the industry. Their ships are beautiful , clean and very well kept . It is certainly worth it to travel on Viking , they are the best .

We had the best time sailing with Viking. Viking provided us with great service the minute with got off the plane to the time we return to the airport. We plan to take at Viking cruise at least once a year now. Friendly staff and great food!
The staff aboard the Viking Sky were attentive to our wishes and addressed a couple of concerns with our room in just a couple of hours after we told the room steward. Meals were fantastic along with the service from every waiter and waitress in the various dining areas. The on board entertainment was excellent. Viking did everything to make your cruise a very enjoyable experience.
Viking is just a wonderful Cruise line and their staff always are above expectation. Everthing they do is so well organized.

We had a great trip and are looking forward to our second Viking cruise this year as well. I would recommend booking with Shannon -- she goes out of her way to make sure everything goes smoothly and if there is a problem, will take care of it immediately! We are very happy with her service and help. Our Viking ocean cruise was everything we expected it to be. This ship was beautiful, and it was the perfect get away winter vacation.
The Viking Sky was clean and the crew were very attentive. We enjoyed visiting the Port of Calls.
The customer service of the wait staff, housekeeping, guest services, tour coordination were outstanding and far exceeding anyone's expectations.
Ship was great, crew was great, entertainment was great, food was great. Viking tried very hard to provide quality shore excursions. Central America is systemically short of first class tours and it showed despite Viking's Valliant try help them do better. I hope they succeed better over time. It's hard to put on a 5 star event when there is barely 3 star resources in the ports of call.
Attention to detail is remarkable
The Viking Sky Ocean Cruise accommodations, Staff, meals, and excursions were Exceptional.
This was our first ocean cruise with Viking after cruising the rivers on four different occasions with Viking. The ship was outstanding and the food was delicious, but there were too many people with each excursion. Furthermore, we like being able to walk into town to explore, With the larger ship, that was not always possible. We would have like to spend more time in the major cities and eliminate the smaller cities.
This trip was fantastic and the ship absolutely beautiful. Only two small issues, both pertaining to excursions. One was the included "Berlin" excursion which lasted twelve hours and amounted to a five hour train ride. The train ride lasted 2.5 hrs and was followed by a useless 1.5 hour bus tour with only one photo stop. We were then deposited in the downtown area for four hours and then later picked up again by the bus for the 2.5 hour train ride back. The city is much too large to be left on your own for that period of time. The second tour was the optional Flam Railway Scenic Tour which was overpriced at $189 per person and included a late afternoon snack which in the tour which was far below what would be expected from Viking (cold sandwich and water or coffee).
