Health and Safety Protocols
Viking requires that all guests be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior to travel. For added protection, we strongly recommend that guests who are eligible for a booster receive one before departing. All crew are required to be up-to-date with their immunization. This policy is aligned with current guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). You may be required to show proof of vaccination for embarkation on a Viking ship. Please note, some countries along your journey may require a booster dose. On select itineraries where required by local authorities, you will submit verification of COVID-19 vaccination status through VeriFLY, an independent third-party mobile app.
Enjoy fresh air in your stateroom, knowing that all staterooms on Viking ocean ships feature independent air handling units that do not share air with other areas of the ship. Take comfort in knowing that the air in the public areas of your ship has also been purified with new short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) lights and high-density filters, which kill 99.99% of all airborne viruses and bacteria.
While every precaution can reduce the risk of illness, we are also prepared for that outcome. Each of our ocean and expedition vessels has always had a state-of-the-art Medical Center; those facilities have now been upgraded with more specialized equipment. We have also launched a new 24/7 hotline staffed by doctors.
Rest assured that the surfaces on your ship will be cleaned and sanitized continuously with daily scheduled deep cleanings. You will notice more hand sanitization stations throughout your ship. And on our ocean ships, we are using new sanitization robots that utilize UV-C light to treat surfaces in guest and crew public areas—an industry first.
Dining & Entertainment
On your ship, you can expect spacious, airy public areas and abundant options for al fresco dining. Also, on our ocean voyages, as always, you can enjoy complimentary 24-hour room service. Now, more options for spaced seating in all dining venues will allow for physical distancing; there will be additional table service at all bars and lounges; and new capabilities will allow you to watch more live events and enriching content through your in-room entertainment system.
Physical Distancing & Face Masks
Public health experts agree that proper physical distancing and the use of face masks are effective in helping slow the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. Face masks are optional while moving about the ship. Please note: Viking’s Medical Team continually monitors conditions and may deem face masks to be necessary while moving about the ship, based on conditions at the time of travel. While ashore, guests will need to comply with any local guidelines for face masks and physical distancing. Face masks continue to be required for all crew.

Viking Ocean cruise exceeded my expectations. It was a great experience with wonderful service, fantastic food and amazing shore excursions.
The ship's staff were excellent. They all introduced themselves to us and made sure that any need or request was quickly taken care of. There was a ship-board doctor available when I needed assistance. If we met one of the staff in a hallway, they would always greet us with a smile and ask how we were. I look forward to the next cruise we take and the staff that we will meet.
The Viking transatlantic crossing was fantastic. I so enjoy the days at sea with all of the many activities, plus lectures and entertainment.
The staff was very responsive. Very very clean ship. My wife has several food allergies. At every meal she received reassurances that her meals were prepared separately with her allergies in mind. The food was excellent. Much better than some other cruise lines. Entertainment was excellent. Live band every night. Wine and beer included at lunch and dinner. Drinks and cocktails at other times were very reasonably priced. Cheaper than local bars.
Because of the war in Russia we were not able to go to Finland, St. Petersburg, and Estonia. Also it was too windy to go visit Bornholm.
Viking cruises has become my favorite Cruise line. I was extremely impressed how very organized they were onboard and off the ship. Based on MY own experiences with various cruise lines Viking were the best from the moment we arrived at the airport , Shore excursions and return trip to airport their Employees made certain you were taken care of. I enjoyed the friendliness of their crew always a smile and some went above and beyond to make certain your were taken care of.
Wonderful experience in Cuba and on the ocean!! Viking is the elite of the elite in every way going out of their way to make your journey a memory to last for a lifetime. We loved it. When we docked in Cienfuegos, it was out in the harbor and we had to take tenders to the dock, since no other docking privileges were allowed, but to two other cruise lines, who had been given them years earlier. We had no issues with the tenders, but were unaware that was going to happen. Thought that might be helpful information.

You can never go wrong with a Viking cruise. Everything is first class. They take good care of you. Food and service are great.
The Viking Star is a beautiful ship and the PV3 cabin was wonderful. The itinerary changed a number of times and the ship did not anchor in Havana Cuba which is a minus. The trip through the Panama Canal was excellent.
The discounted price offered by your firm was excellent. While we were booking the tour with your firm we had contacted Viking about the very discounted price we were being offered. They tried to "warn us" that the price you offered was "too good to be true" and that we would be taking a chance if we signed up to your deal. YOUR FIRM LIVED UP 100% TO YOUR EXCELLENT DEAL! When we told fellow travelers on our Viking cruise, all were surprised at the very low we paid your firm. We only met one other person who claimed to get as good a deal as we did. This one couple even bragged that their deal was even a little better than ours (however,they would not provide the name of their provider)
Affordable Tours and Viking both do an incredible job. Two excellent companies and I always feel there is additional value added for the price.
Jennifer was great to work with. She was always available to answer any questions that came up. We told our cruising friends about her, and they booked another Viking cruise while on board Viking Star, and received some of her bonuses in addition to all the incentives that Viking was offering.
Our experience on board the ship was excellent. The accommodations were wonderful, the food delicious, the staff attentive and courteous at all times. A few of the included tours did not meet my expectations. Some of the optional tours were closed before we were given the opportunity to decide on them or were given at the same time as the included tours. That was disappointing.
Viking was excellent in our opinion. Excellent food, entertainment, tours, assistance.
First class cruise.
The only suggestion is to pay attention to the cruise path and select the side of the boat that will yield the best scenery from the room. We were on the port side and most of the land that we passed was on the starboard side. Not a biggie, but we would have had better photograph moments from the room if we were on the starboard side.
Viking delivered an exceptional travel experience, just as it has with our previous bookings with them.
Very good trip on the Viking Sun. Exceptional crew went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable trip. Everything was handled smoothly and in an excellent manner.

Viking customer service is outstanding!
Loved the size of the ship. Better than the huge ships out there. However, do not expect to do any shopping onboard or find miscellaneous items you might have forgotten to pack. You have to buy them off the ship. Terrific service at meals and the room attendants were good. They were not obvious at all times, but could be reached through the housekeeping phone line. I love Viking but still prefer the River cruises because they were more personal with the population on board.
This is our third great trip booked through my consultant and Affordable Tours. We had a great time. Everything was smooth as silk. Thanks so much.
Viking is a great line. Customer service is absolutely excellent, rooms perfect and food unbelievable. We learned a lot from the excursions and love that there is one all-inclusive price, except for the tipping at the end. But those hardworking folks deserved it!

Viking Ocean Cruises delivers just as advertised. Excellent customer service is provided by the entire crew, from the housekeeping department, the chefs and their staff, all the way up to the cruise director and captain. There are no worries on the excursions and transfers to/from airports. Everything is exact and planned out perfectly. There is no congestion or crowding as described to us by the non-Viking cruise passengers we encountered at various ports.

The cruise with Viking was absolutely amazing. The entire crew made sure that we had everything that we needed or wanted at all times. Whoever trained them must have emphasized the importance of the passengers above everything else. This is the second Viking cruise that we have been on and certainly will not be our last. They have spoiled us as no other cruise line has ever done.
I would definitely do another trip with Viking Cruise Lines, it was just a wonderful experience and the ship was so beautiful and comfortable. I truly can't say enough about the people that work for Viking so professional and courteous.
